Q\ what’s the difference between science and literature ?

✓ Science is a matter of truths, facts and equations.
While literature on the other hand we don’t have truths.
Everything in it comes from imagination or the mind which means
that the writer is free to write about anything.

Q\ what’s the purpose of literature ?

✓ The purpose of literature is to reflect life.
Literature is like a mirror that reflect on life, although it’s not real.

Q\ in what the senses does writers write about?

✓ They write about life in general.
The writer have a life experience and he reflects it to people by
writing on paper.

Topics that writers write about :

( Motherhood, war, democracy, love, brotherhood, family,
friendship, food, water, religion, etc.)
And all of these topics are called 'items of life' .
• In literature we don’t have a part of life, we have the life as a
whole.

Q\ where did literature come from ?

✓ Literature came from the need of someone to express
themselves.

Q\ what’s the importance of writing literature ?

✓ 1- for entertainment.
2- understanding life because when we finish it we might come
out with a new thinking of life.
 Q\ what are the types of literature ?
✓ There are two types of literature :

Poetry Prose

Sonnet. Drama Fiction

Dramatic poetry ballads

Fable tale Noble

Legend Novella Short story

• Dramatic poetry was much more old than Prose.

• Drama before was a part of poetic drama but now it’s more after
a Prose.

Q\ what’s special about drama ?

✓ Drama is written to be acted on the stage
 Q\ why drama is special than the others ?
✓ Because the other kinds (poetry) is written to be heard or read,
and fiction is written to be read. While drama is written to be
acted on stage.

• When the dramatist (play writer) is writing the drama (play) all
that’s in his mind is the stage.

Q\ what are the difficulties in drama ?

✓ 1- drama is written to be acted and it’s usually acted before
it’s read, after it has been acted the dramatist well write and
publish it.
2- there should be actors to act the drama but not every
actor is a real one, and they say that the real actor is the one
who can act in the stage of drama.
3- another difficulty is the contact with the audience,
because everything that the actors is doing is seen by the
audience.
4- a lot of times the stage is limited, it could only be 20-40
meters so the actors have to act with what is suitable for
them. And the limited stage is on the dramatist.
