The process for Vote-by-Mail, or Absentee Voting, which means exactly
the same thing, is starting. Though Trump keeps saying that Vote by Mail is a terrible thing, but Absentee Voting is okay, it is absolutely the same thing. That’s just one more thing he doesn’t understand.
If you’re already registered to vote, then you should request an
absentee ballot application immediately. If your state allows registered voters to vote by mail, and all do to varying degrees, then go online to your County Board of Elections and download, print, and complete your request for an absentee ballot application. You can return your request to the Board of Elections by mail or in person.
Last Friday, I completed and dropped off my request for an absentee
ballot at my local County Board of Elections Office. It took about two minutes; one to complete the application, and one minute to drop it off. I should receive my absentee ballot near the end of September, and I plan to vote the same day I receive my ballot. I’m not waiting until November 3rd to vote; I’m not even waiting until October. I can’t wait to vote!
USHLI will soon be posting a calendar on our website showing when
you can request an absentee ballot in your state. If you’re registered to vote, please submit your ballot application ASAP. If you’re not registered to vote, most states are allowing people to register to vote online. USHLI will also be listing on our website the states that allow for online voter registration. Please stay tuned.
