TIMING ADVANCE PROCESSOR

General Description
.Mc10 flex Timing Advance Processor has been designed for installing in 4, 5, 6 & 8 cylinders vehicles
equipped with Electronic Injection system and Ignition with inductive CKP sensor.
It's able to regulate of totally automatic mode the different advances, to improve the performance and the
consumptions, and of minimizing the dangers owed to returns of flame.
This new version of MC10 comes predisposed to be updated with new software without need to change the
device. By this way we gets a Timing Advance Processor to enlarge in nonstop his list of applications and
specific corrections for given vehicles.

Crankshaft CKP
Sensor Advancer insert Electronic Control Unit (ECU) Ignition Coils

Mc10 flex must be installed always among the CKP Sensor and the Electronic Control Unit (ECU)

Function
The Mc10 flex, receive the CKP sensor signals of the Trigger Wheel mounted on the crankshaft.
The quantity of pulses received and his correspondent synchronism, they depend on the quantity of
teeth and free spaces that the Trigger Wheel possess. By this way it is possible to process this signal
and deliver it to the ECU with the necessary advance modifications for the correct CNG functioning.
With these modifications of the original signal, the ECU of the vehicle makes the necessary corrections
for the activation of the ignition system.
The Mc10 flex, is only compatible for Inductive CKP Sensor signals with a synchro pulse as shows up
in the following figure :

Note: programming software is only necessary for the application of new signals generated in the
future or updates of existent signals.
It's recommended request at your dealer the pre-programmed kit for different signals that they differ to

Disconnect activated advance in idle RPM's
In some vehicles it's appropriate to remove the advance activation in deceleration phase and to the idle
RPM's to avoid leaps or function irregularities.
The advance activation is used immediately in acceleration phase for the better performance,
consumption and decreasing to the minimum the retro-flame danger.
With the MC10 the advance activation can get connected and disconnect automatically connecting the
BLUE YELLOW wire to the TPS signal wire.

Setting the point of Advance Activation

The TPS sensor signal isn't always equal,


therefore he is foreseen one tared of the point of activation.
regulation takes effect of the following form:

1-Verifying than the regulator this completely turned clockwise.

2- When the engine at Idle RPM’s, turn the Advance Activation Regulator just the opposite to the hands of
the clock until the red led go off (disconnected advance).

3- Regulated by this way if you accelerate the engine, the red led was turn on and turn off when the
accelerater pedal releases
