Hi Julie,

We are on EHP6 SP02. I have been trying to configure a few roles for NWBC that uses
sidepanels and CHIPs. However, after creating application config, when i try to add a
CHIP to it, the CHIP catalog appears empty. I have no clue why is that. Based on your

Hello Julie;

Thank for sharing this information.

I need to know how can I change the Index page at NWBC content with an Initial
Dashboard or Overview? Have you any examples?

Best regards,

Mariano

Mariano

Don't think you could change the Index Page; but you could create a page of your own
(e.g. Using Page Builder) and insert your Dashboard there. Then use the "Pin" \ "UnPin"
function to load your that page on startup.

Cheers

HI Mariano, Yes, Damean is quite right. best bet is orobably create a Page Builder entry
page; you can include a dashboard, and, for example, include a list of common
transactions using a PFCG link List or PFCG favorites chip.

hi Julie,

we try to utilize the side-panes as often as possible, since our

customers tend to favor "good old" SAPGUI-transactions - even
inside the NWBC.

One customer asked me to show up the sidepanels as soon as the

TCODE is started. I found the parameter WDSIDEPANELOPEN in
the documentation. But that seems to have no effect, since the
sidepanel stays hidden. Is there any possibility to open a sidepanel
automatically with the start of the transaction code?

any hints appreciated.

thx!

able to set this in the Personalization -> Settings... menu:

Does this work?

hi Julie,

thank you for your lightning-fast reply!

I switched ON the checkbox, the sidepanel shows up immediately

(as I requested).

BUT

no data to be shown

even if I press "refresh" or switch-off/switch-on-again the

sidepanel. There is no data (please scroll the picture to the right).

WITHOUT your suggested checkbox the sidepanel works fine

(from the perspective of "data to be displayed).

p.s. currently we are on NWBC 5.0 PL 4 (due to a support ticket

where they requested PL 4). Do you have any hope that the new
PL 6 will solve the issue?

hi Julie,

today I tried sidepanel of IW33 (with old-school-graphics) and FB60

(with HTML5-CVOM-graphics which we introduced according to the
example (http://scn.sap.com/community/netweaver-business-
client/blog/2013/11/21/nwbc-side-panel-demo-combining-a-sap-gui-
transaction-with-an-html5-based-fpm-chart-guibb)) and both worked
well with NWBC 5.0 PL4 and SAPGUI 7.40 PL2 hotfix 2: The Side-
panels show up right from the start and react in synch with the
actions taken on SAPGUI-side-of-life.

Only TCODE SEPM_SO keeps complaining.

Then some further patching to NWBC 5.0 PL7 and SAPGUI 7.40

PL3 hotfix 1. IW33 and FB60 are still ok

SEPM_SO is not ok but I don't mind at the moment.

one remark: resizing the side-panel is a pain (even in NWBC

5.0 PL7). When I drag the vertical splitter line to the left it constantly
hops back to its original position. It needs some sort of luck to
finalize an attempt of resizing. At first I thought that the problem is
related with HTML5-CVOM-graphics but it's the same with old-
school-graphics-side-panels.

please take a look into it. Thx!

Hi Christian,

In this case, I am sorry, but your best bet is to open an OSS message.

In the message, it may help to give: PL7, version of IE?, does this problem also occur with
non-graphical side panels, eg master data details?

If you give me the OSS number, I will keep track of it.
