Governance is a system that promotes human development.

The qualities or characteristics

of governance are participatory, transparent, accountable, effective and equitable. It promotes

the rule of law. It allocates resources according to the needs of the people. The scope of

governance is political, economic and administrative. It sees to it that the economy is managed

well for the people. Governance is tasked with the formation of policies and implementation of

such policies.

The concept of governance for me is the way the government or the people in authority

make decisions for the benefit of the country, it’s people and its resources. It is the effective

implementation of decisions or policies for the greater good of the people. People depend on

the governance for their security in life and even their quality of life. Governance is the way the

country is efficiently managed. Not just proper management of the resources the people too.

Governance is also being able to protect the citizens from harm and uphold their human rights.

One scope is to be able to manage the economy of the country so people will have better lives.

In governance the people in the government must do things for the interest of the people and

not their own interest. The authority to govern is given by the people so it is right to do it for

the people.
