DOCUMENT ON HOW TO DOWNLOAD VISUAL STUDIO FOR WINDOWS

DOWNLOADING PART

In this document I will show you how to download visual studio for your windows(Pc,Laptop) and
follow all the steps. Don’t skip any step.

Step 1: Open any browser in your laptop ( i:e Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer) and type it
as “Visual studio code download for windows” in the search engine. After hit enter.

Step 2: after searching. You will get a lot of links for downloading visual studio. But I will recommend
you to go for this site. That is present as third link that is “Download Visual Studio Code-Mac, Linux,
Windows”

Step 3: If you didn’t get that ,I added the link of that page here. So you can directly copy this link
https://code.visualstudio.com/download and paste it in the website. After hit enter.

Step 4:After the above step done ,the below webpage will be opened.

Step 5: Before going to download first find your system configuration that is your system is 64 bit or
32 bit? I will tell you how to find that.

Go to, start > Settings > System > About

After that About you will get the following window. In that window can you see system type it
contains 64 bit operating system. After finding come back to to Visual studio website (explained in
Step 6).

Step 6: In this step you will proceed for downloading. In this snapshot you can see there is 3 option
for you

1. Windows

2. .deb , .rpm

3. Mac

But we want visual studio for windows so in that windows option again you can see 3 more options

1 user installer 64bit 32bit

2 system installer 64bit 32bit

3 .zip 64bit 32bit

Step 7: If your system is 64 bit click on 64bit that is present in system installer or if your system is 32
bit click on 32bit that is present in system installer (Note: Don’t go for user installer and .zip).

So my system is 64 bit so after clicking on 64bit it will pop-up another window las shown in snapshot
here and asking for saving or downloading the file.

Step 8: So choose the Save option and it will start downloading.

Step 9: In this step after the completion of downloading go to (click on) downloads in your pc as
shown in snapshot ( This Pc > (click on) Downloads).

Step 10: After clicking you will get the following page as shown in snapshot, In this snapshot you can
see our downloaded file i:e “ VSCodeSetup-x64-1.39.1.exe” and double click on that .exe file. And
you will get the pop-up window asking for permission to install and give it “YES”

Step 11: After clicking yes you will get another window as shown in snapshot. It asks for license
agreement and first click on I accept the agreement then click on next.

Step 12 : In this it asks user where to install the visual studio application. In default it taking the C
drive but if you want to change that click on Browse option and click on which drive you want to
install.

In this I used the H drive for installation. But you can choose any drive(Note: it must contain 227MB
of free space).

Step 13: After selecting Drive for installation then click on Next.

Step 14: In this step it asks for select start menu folder don’t change anything just click on Next.

Step 15: in this step its asking for select additional task don’t select anything then click on Next.

Step 16:In this step it asks the user permission for install(Ready to install) Then click on Install.

Step 17 : after clicking on install it will install the visual studio app and it will pop-up window as
shown in snapshot and click on (box)Launch Visual studio Code then click on Finish.

Step 18: After clicking the Finish this is the welcome page of Visual studio

This is how you need to download and install Visual studio in your pc.
