The Missions of the Month for January are Disciples
Pantry (Woodstown)/Peter’s Pantry (Elmer).
Some local organizations collect food and canned goods
around the holidays. Without this extra food, the food
pantries often have difficulty in January and February
helping those in need. Please pray for Peter’s Pantry & The
Disciple’s Pantry. Any food donations would be greatly
appreciated.
Disciples Pantry is located at Asbury United Methodist
Church in Woodstown and exists in our community to help
feed the hungry. People are able to come and pick up food
for themselves and their families. It is given freely and
with Christ’s love. We support them through canned good
drives, Crop Walk and Garden for God. Items such as
cereals, pasta, mac-n-cheese, rice and any canned goods are
still needed. Please leave your contribution in the box
marked in the narthex and we will make sure it gets there.
Peter’s Pantry is located at Elmer United Methodist Church
and also exists in our community to help feed the hungry.
“The Pantry is a food bank serving emergency needs, serving
as a stopgap measure for someone awaiting public assistance
and serving families that can not make it to the end of the
month. Every client receives a standard order of food and a
voucher for specific food items at the local grocery store.”
Please keep these ministries in your prayers.
Join us for a prayer time every Sunday morning in the
youth lounge before church at 9:20am.

Today, immediately following worship there will be a
Deacon’s meeting in the youth lounge.
The Annual Meeting is scheduled for January 30th. If
you have not yet turned in your annual reports please do so
today. You can leave them in the basket upstairs outside of
the nursery or in the holder on the office door. You can also
e-mail them to Jill at jstout312@comcast.net.
This year instead of the covered dish luncheon we are
going to have a short time of worship prior to the annual
meeting. Please join us for light refreshments after
worship service in the narthex and return to the
sanctuary at 11:30. We will start with a time of
worship, thanksgiving and celebration of the ministry and
mission of our church from 2010.
In order to save on supplies we are thinking of making less
copies of the annual report this year. If you are able and
willing to share a copy with someone it would be greatly
appreciated.

The 2011 Flower Calendar Chart is now available. Please sign
up! It is located on the wall outside of the upstairs lounge.
There are 8 assisted listening devices available for people to
better hear the worship service. They are located in a
basket in the narthex. Please return the devices to the
basket at the conclusion of worship. CD copies of our
worship service are available every Sunday in the narthex.
The flowers this morning are presented in loving memory of
George Kline by Glenn & Elaine Myers.
Stewardship News: Stewardship and Mission Committees
want all congregants to be aware that, starting in 2011, only
funds actually designated for mission and benevolence will be
used to support our church’s missions. Any non-designated
funds will be applied to the general operating budget only.
Please be sure to clearly designate any offerings as mission
or benevolence, and please adjust your pledges to reflect
your wishes in light of this change. We hope this leap of
faith by our church will be answered with continuing (and
growing) support from our members over the coming years.
Please plan on attending the Congregational Meeting to learn
more. If you have any questions please see a member of the
mission team.
Thank you for your willingness to pay this year’s per
capita. The cost is $38 per member and is paid by the
church during January.
Thank you to all of our outgoing officers…we appreciate your
service to the Lord! Thank you also to our incoming
officers…we appreciate your willingness to give of your time
to be the hands and feet of Jesus in Daretown and beyond.
Please pray for all our Boards as we seek to follow God’s
plans for our lives and for our church. If you have any
questions about the ministry of our church please be sure to
ask one of our officers or Pastor Julia.
We want to thank all of our employees who are willing to
take no increase this year in their salaries in order to help
our church. We are grateful for their talents, gifts and
abilities and we are so blessed to have them.
Spiritual Growth Opportunities for 2011
What do you want to change in the coming year? What
would you like to do more often? As we consider changes in
our lives to help us become more healthy, well rounded and
loving people why not consider making a change in your
spiritual health? Here are some thoughts-
Keep reading your Bible! We were challenged to read our
Bible more regularly in 2010 keep that challenge going or
begin it again if you have slacked off. Why not move your
Bible right next to your bed table so you see it when you go
to sleep and wake up. Use the quarterly devotionals found in
the narthex to help guide your study, and refresh your walk
with the Lord. Read through the gospels or why not look at
the sermon text after we hear it on Sunday?
Pray through our new directory. We now have our updated
2011 directory ready for everyone. Take a copy home with
you and move through the alphabet praying for people in our
congregation and lifting them up before the Lord! We can
all use prayer and while you pray you will be making a huge
difference in individual lives and in our congregation. You
don’t need to know what to pray, just ask the Lord to be at
work in each person’s life and allow the Spirit to guide your
prayers.

Sermons in January will be using some of these important
principles. Let’s be more God-centered in 2011! Books are in
the narthex and are priced at $12 each.
