Interviewee Briefing Copy

Thank you for agreeing to be interviewed for the inaugural season of the new AEF podcast.

What the podcast is about

This podcast is being made by the Asia Education Foundation to highlight the people, programs and
partnerships of the BRIDGE program.

The first season will consist of three episodes, each approximately 15 minutes long.

Your interview will be part of the episode entitled Leadershift, where we’re looking at how school
leaders (at any level) have changed their approaches through their experience with the BRIDGE
program and engagement with intercultural learning.

Your interview will be part of the episode entitled Collabor-nation, where we want to explore how
collaboration has been built and fostered in your BRIDGE partnership. We’re interested in finding out
how these collaboration skills have changed your practice and your schools.

Your interview will be part of the episode entitled STEMming Across Asia, where we will be looking at
STEM learning in intercultural partnerships and what the possibilities are for the future.

We’ve included a list of questions for you to consider. Have a read of the questions before your
interview and let us know if you have any questions. Please let us know at the time of the interview if
there are other things relevant to the topic that you would like to talk about.

Dave Rogers (Podcast Producer) will be facilitating the interviews.

Connecting via Zencastr

The interview will be audio recorded using Zencastr.

Zencastr works by connecting us for a conversation online and recording your audio onto your
computer. After the interview is finished, your audio is automatically uploaded for us to access.

Zencastr is designed to be run on a desktop or laptop PC. It won’t work on a phone or tablet.

Zencastr should be run in Chrome or Firefox browsers only.

If this is not possible, please advise Nicole or Jessica prior to the interview and alternate arrangements
can be made.

Recording Tips

Zencastr will use the default audio setting for your computer. This will usually mean the built–in
microphone and speakers on your computer. If this is the case, please use headphones during the
recording.
If you have a USB microphone, please use this for the interview.

We can get a good recording using Apple headphones that used to come with iPhones. They are wired
and look like this.

Please don’t use headset microphones like this.

Please choose a quiet spot to set up for your interview, preferably in a room that doesn’t have hard
surfaces. For example, choose a room that has carpet or rugs on the floor or bookcases or hangings on
the wall.

There will be plenty of time on the interview day to assist you with your set up if required.

If you have any questions regarding set up of Zencastr or your recording environment, please contact
Jesssica Stevens on j.stevens@asialink.unimelb.edu.au or Nicole Bratchford on
nicole.bratchford@unimelb.edu.au
