Jakarino is a reggae singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and musician-composer for theater. Born in Pinar del Río, Cuba, son of a teacher (mother) and a construction
worker (father), a humble family in the higher climax of the relations between Cuba and the Soviet Union. Since a early age he was absorbing the music at home. Salsa,
traditional son, trova, bolero and rock music principally, influenced in him very deep, influence that would be materialized in his future projects. Although he always liked
singing, it was not until the age of 13 that he learned his first chords and with them composed his first song.

Few years after, with two more friends, he forms his first band, one trio of punk-rock, having very good acceptance. Short time later he enters to the Art’s Conservatory of
the city, in the specialty of guitar. In the 1998, still being very young, starts to work as musician at a theater group, beginning his professional career as composer, where
over six years stood out receiving several and positive recognitions to his work. Parallel, he incursions, accompanied only by his guitar, in the Movement of the Nueva Tro-
va.

Determined to go on with his music, around 1999, he joins together his friends again and tries a new adventure, but this time with more members. Ley del Jákaro, a pop-
grunge-latin-rock mixture experiment. They showed up for a national contest in two opportunities next to bands of very high level in the country, obtaining the third place
in the first occasion and especial mention in the second for the songs they participated with. After a light renewal, he keeps on with Los Jákaros, fusing his actual work
with another genres and styles of the latin music, departing from an undeniable truth: Music is only one.

In February of 2004, he travels to Germany. Once there knows the musical scene of Berlin, where he contacts with another musicians, and more than musicians, he gets
friends with which builds Jakarino and his Tercera Mano. The funk, the punk-rock, the ska and the reggae were the spices for this new band. They win the prize to the
most popular band in a competition of emerging bands, given at the cultural center Tacheles. They also were invited in two occasions to the Fetè de l'Musique festival
(German edition), giving a full-house concert in the Trännen Palast. Due to the going out of the drummer, some months later, Jakarino, together with the rest of the mem-
bers, reorganizes with another project, Radio Kanario, enlarging his format that way. A set of winds (flute, saxophone, trombone), latin percussion, bass and two guitars,
retaking an acoustic sound where the cosmopolitan image continues, being now stronger. Throughout that time, Jakarino also returns to his career as troubadour, trave-
ling differently to cities of Europe, accomplishing small presentations, as well collaborations with varied projects and musical and theatrical groups.

Ending 2012, after almost 9 years, he returns again to the island and resolve to work with different theater groups as music composer and actor-musician, participating in
the principal theatrical events of the country. Gradually he becomes reincorporated in the local scene of his birth town, taking part in festivals and others artistic events in
the province. It is in this period when Jakarino's new sound begins to emerge.

In spite of having a career with 20 years of constant activity and active projects, it is in 2018 when he makes the decision and joins together a group of songs, some new
and some that he has been writing during a prolonged period and sets out to produce his album debut as singer-songwriter: Seremos Vida. The result is a product of 16
tracks that fuses the reggae with the Latin American and Caribbean- music.

The taste for reggae music comes for the first-time decades before, when he discovered Bob Marley and all a movement captivated by its sound. To this, it followed a
constant quest of musicians that cultivate and cultivated the same genre worldwide. Attracted for its cadence, he deepens a little more into what that represents, until he
gets to feel it of his own and the one that has accompanied almost each one of his compositions.

Jakarino es un cantautor de reggae, multi-instrumentista, compositor para teatro. Nacido en Pinar del Río, Cuba, hijo de una maestra y un trabajador de la construcción,
una familia humilde en el clímax más alto de las relaciones entre Cuba y la Unión Soviética. Desde una temprana edad fue absorbiendo la música en el hogar. Salsa, son
tradicional, trova, bolero y música rock principalmente, influenciaron en él muy profundo, influencia que se materializó en sus futuros proyectos. Aunque a él siempre gus-
tó de cantar, no fue hasta la edad de 13 que él aprendió sus primeros acordes y con ellos compuso su primera canción.

Pocos años después, con dos amigos más, forma su primera banda, un trío de punk-rock, teniendo muy buena aceptación. Corto tiempo más tarde entra al Conservatorio
del Arte de la ciudad, en la especialidad de guitarra. En el 1998, siendo todavía muy joven, comienza a trabajar como músico en un grupo del teatro, empezando su carrera
profesional como compositor, dónde sobre seis años sobresalió recibiendo varios y positivos reconocimientos a su trabajo. Paralelo, incursiona, acompañado sólo por su
guitarra, en el Movimiento de la Nueva Trova.

Decidido a continuar con su música, alrrededor de 1999, reune a sus amigos otra vez y prueba una aventura nueva, pero esta vez con más miembros. Ley del Jákaro, un
experimento, una mezcla de pop-grunge-latin-rock. Se presentaron a un certamen nacional en dos oportunidades próximos a bandas de muy alto nivel en el país, obte-
niendo el tercer lugar en la primera ocasión y mención especial en la segunda por las canciones con las que participaron. Después de una ligera renovación, continúa con
Los Jákaros, fusionando su trabajo actual con otros géneros y otros estilos de la música latina, partiendo desde una verdad innegable: La música es sólo una.

En febrero de 2004, viaja a Alemania. Una vez allí conoce la escena musical de Berlín, donde él contacta con otros músicos, y más que músicos, hace amigos con los cuales
construyen Jakarino y su Tercera Mano. El funk, el punk-rock, el ska y el reggae fueron los condimentos para esta nueva banda. Se llevan el premio a la banda más popular
en una competencia de bandas emergentes, dado en el centro cultural Tacheles. También fueron invitados en dos ocasiones al festival Fetè de l'Musique (edición alema-
na), dando un concierto a sala-llena en el Trännen Palast. Debido a la salida del baterista, algunos meses más tarde, Jakarino, conjuntamente con el resto de los miembros,
se reorganiza con otro proyecto, Radio Kanario, alargando su formato de ese modo. Un set de vientos (flauta, saxofón, trombón), percusión latina, bajo y dos guitarras,
retomando un sonido acústico donde la imagen cosmopolita continúa, siendo ahora más fuerte. A lo largo de ese tiempo, Jakarino también retorna a su carrera como tro-
vador, viajando diferentemente a ciudades de Europa, logrando pequeñas presentaciones, como también colaboraciones con variados proyectos y grupos teatrales y mu-
sicales.

Finalizando el 2012, después de casi 9 años, regresa otra vez a la isla y resuelve trabajar con diferentes grupos de teatro como compositor musical y músico-actor, partici-
pando en los principales eventos teatrales del país. Gradualmente va reincorporándose en la escena local de su pueblo natal, tomando parte en festivales y otros aconteci-
mientos artísticos en la provincia. Es en este período cuando el nuevo sonido de Jakarino comienza a emerger.

A pesar de llevar una carrera con 20 años de constante actividad y proyectos activos, es en 2018 cuando toma la decisión y junta un grupo de canciones, algunas nuevas y
algunas que él ha estado escribiendo durante un período prolongado, y se pone a producir su álbum debut como cantautor: Seremos Vida. El resultado es un producto de
16 pistas que fusiona el reggae con la música latinoamericana y caribeña.

El gusto por la música reggae viene por primera vez décadas atrás, cuándo descubrió a Bob Marley y a todo un movimiento cautivado por su sonido. A esto le siguió una
constante búsqueda de músicos que cultivan y cultivaron el mismo género por todo el mundo. Atraído para su cadencia, él profundiza un poco más en lo que representa,
hasta que consigue sentirlo como suyo propio y el que ha acompañado a casi cada una de sus composiciones.

bets on a better world, for the diversity, for
love and understanding, inviting to the reflec-
tion, committed with the reality.

versidad, por el amor y el entendimiento, invi-
tando a la reflexión, comprometido con la re-
