I. INTRODUCTION

Great morning everyone and it’s great to see you again. Welcome back
to school. I hope your minds are now set for this S.Y.s challenging work.
Please raise your right hand and tell your colleague beside you, welcome to
the new normal education.

How are you after the three months of quarantine fattening? I could observe
most of you gained weight? Don’t you? How did you spend your vacation? Did you
enjoy spending it at home or elsewhere? Well, for me this was my first time that my
vacation was dry. Aside from I was advised for quarantine for 14 days because I
went to Butuan City, some of my days were not productive. To a person who is fond
of travelling and going to school, some of the days I stayed at home were inefficient.
Good thing, I have online classes which somehow pressured me to read and read.
Best thing too becasue I had some boys with me chillin when we were bored. And I
could see some of you as well that you were enjoying based from your posts. We
are very fortunate that our law enforcers in this province were not that strict.
Compared in Manila, Cebu and Davao. As an example is Gen. Siñas of PNP NCR
who is now facing criminal charges for not following quarantine protocols. Imagine,
just because of that “surprised mañanita”, your entire career is already at stake?
Harsh but that is the law, Dura Lex Sed Lex. I would like to warn you as well of not
to post threats to any public officials because it is a criminal offense called Inciting to
Sedition punishable under Article __ of RPC. Look what happened to a teacher in
Zambales. As the saying goes, think before you click because we have a lot of laws
protecting each other. You may faced libel, perjury, cyber libel, or data privacy act.
So again let us be careful and responsible of our freedom of expression because it
is not absolute. Let me also remind you of your unauthorized leave or AWOL,
consecutive absences and insubordination because these stupid practices are
subject for dismissal after due process of law.
Let me commend all of you for your assistance given to the frontlines. I know
that you needed money too during lockdown days, but you did not fail to share a
little to our unsung heroes. Let me also thank all of you for giving an amount from
your mid-year year bonus for our Job Orders. One Priest said, “You Can Give
Without Loving But You Can’t Love Without Giving”. That’s one of our best
practices because we do not only extend provisions to our students and colleagues,
but also to the community, all from our heart. So once again thank you for your
assistance. In these times, our character is being tested. What defines you is not
really what you have and what you have achieved. It is your character.

Maybe you have heard that I will be working abroad soon. I am confirming it’s
true subject to the approval of my working visa yet. Unfortunately, as of now, the US
immigration for Non-US immigrants is not yet operational until further noticed due to
this pandemic. I could not also transact some of my credentials in Davao since the
Universities there are still closed. Deadline of documents must all be submitted on
First Week of July for authenticity evaluation and salary grade scheme, and finally
fly on the last week of July. So I don’t think I would be able to send via courier all my
credentials on due date except if they will still wait for me. Thus, this application is
still on air and remain a dream until such time I would be able to fly. But as I said, so
long as I am still the School Head of LNHS, genuine services will still be done as
much as I could. On the other context, there is an on-going reshuffling of School
Heads Division Wide of those who over stayed on their station already. But the order
of the Superintendent was two years minimum and up. I love to transfer supposed to
be because I would like to extend my services too to BNHS, but Dr. Gardones
insisted me to stay just for this S.Y. only. Hence, If I will still be here next year, it is
expected that I will be serving BNHS next S.Y. too. For now, so long as I am still
here, you need to follow still my orders and cooperate the same whatever
responsibilities are mandated to you.

For your IPCR, let us wait for further memo because there is an adjustment of
point system. I am anticipating that you have prepared your Portfolio. Non-Teaching
Personnel is already done the same that is why I signed already their IPCR.

So accordingly, amid this pandemic, education shall continue. We cannot


afford to extend up to September or next year because the law says opening of
classes must only happen in between June to August. However, if this pandemic
persist, we cannot compromise health and safety, thus, Congress must decide. For
now, education continues.

Sec. Briones in her statement assured parents that we are doing our best in
the realm of possibility. That we should never give up because we are just on the
same boat that needs teamwork for us not to sink, but propel in a certain direction.

With that, we have D.O. # 007, s. 2020 (School Calendar of Activities) which
will guide us what to do and our expected outputs.
