1. Justify your topic by describing the problem that you have identified
We all heard debates about which type of water is better for our body and our
health overall. Is it purified water or mineral water? Even experts are divided
when it comes to this subject. Usually doctors who will recommend purified water
and those who recommend mineral water will even provide scientific papers to
support their beliefs. However the scientific community did not release any
official standing on this matter. There are also no complete and well organized
studies conducted to finally put an end. Then we all as human being we used water
everyday, we need clean and healthy water to drink.

Audience
1. How did you determine the knowledge level/stand/viewpoint of your audience?
I determined the knowledge of the audience by the background field of studies of
the audience. As in UTP the audience are all from engineering or information
technology background as well as business study.

2. How did this information influence your presentation?

This information influence my presentation such as I will deliver information that
are related to the audience background study. I will try to deliver ideas and
information that they can understand and can relate it to their life.

3. How do you plan to gain the audience’s attention?

• I also will stress about the benefits of each types of water and as well as
the importance making decision in choosing the correct water that did not
harm our health in spite enhance our body to become more healthy.
• I will use interesting and related visual aids and supporting data to make
the audience did not get bored with my presentation.

4. In relation to your topic, what are some ethical issues that you took into
consideration? Explain.
• The water that is the best choice to be drinking water. As we know
municipal water agency sometimes cannot treat the water according the
standard because the treatment process is costly. The water that going
through the steel pipes to come to the domestic users also sometimes
berkarat and contribute to the contaminate water.
• The water also is very necessary needs to all human life. Then that is the
fact that a lot of experts think the next resource that will spark a wide scale
international conflict isn’t going to be oil, but fresh drinking water.

a. What is your thesis statement?
Filtered water is the best drinking water compared to bottled mineral water
because it has many advantages such as healthier, cheaper and
environment friendly.

b. What is the purpose and importance of choosing this topic?

• This topic is really important because nowadays users take things
for granted. They did not do research and did not try to find the
better solution regarding the drinking water. Then with this
presentation they will know what is the advantages in choosing the
best drinking water to their health..
• The decision in choosing the best drinking water is very important
because water is an essential need to all human being as well as
animals and plants. But focusing on the drinking itself, we need to
drink water that been approved as clean water to avoid from
disease regarding water.

c. How is the topic relevant to the audience?

• This topic is much relevant to the audience since the audience as
well as me used water everyday as drink. But we did not ever want
to bother what is the affect in choosing the drinking water in term
of our health as well as to our body.

• I established my credibility by made many research for any
information related to this topic on the internets, books magazine
and others.

a. Which organizational pattern are you using? Justify your choice.
• I will use logical sequence idea to express on what is filtered water
and continue to the elaboration on the benefits of drinking filtered
water.

a. List the supporting ideas for each main point.

• Introduction about the drinking water including the bottled mineral
water and filtered water. The statistics about the users of those kind
of drinking water.
• What is filtered water which describe as fresh water from tap that
undergo water filtration system to make it cleaner and fresher.
• The comparisons between filtered water and bottled mineral water
such as in term of the cost effective and the benefits.
• The disadvantages of bottled mineral water that contribute to
kidney problem.

size of filter that is high cross section, suitable for user needs and
recognize water filter.

• I will summarize the point that I have delivered and relate the

• The benefits of filtered water that is much more than bottled

mineral water in term of the cost and the quality.
c. Describe how you are going to summarize the entire presentation.
• I will summarize the entire presentation by recap the main points
that I have delivered and stress to the important points regarding
filtered water.

d. Describe how you are going to reiterate the purpose and importance of the
whole presentation to relate to your audience.
• The audience drink water everyday but did not ever bother to
choose the best drinking water because lack of knowledge and take
things for granted. Then I will inform them and as well as persuade
them to drink filtered water.

Practice Session
1. How did you practice your speech?
• I practiced my speech in my room in my dormitory and in front of the
slide in my laptop. Sometimes I also practiced in the classroom to make
me comfortable with the real presentation environment.
• I always practiced my speech when I have free times and everyday to
make me more fluent in presenting the speech.

• I practiced in front of the mirror to look at the gestures and sometimes I

asked my friends to become my audience as well as the judge.

2. Which area of your speech needed improvement?

• The style and the skills in presenting that need the improvement to
persuade the audience to agree with my topics and all my ideas.

3. Did you stay within the time limit?

• I stayed within the time limits provided that is 10 minutes. I managed to
finish my speech at least for 7 minutes. Then another 3 minutes are
provided for the question and answer session between me and the
audience.
