in
College of Agriculture, Tripura.
Government of Tripura invites application from the eligible candidates for the following
posts in the College of Agriculture, Agartala, Tripura, to be recruited on regular basis in UGC
scale (revised). Discipline wise posts of different categories are given below:-

Eligibility Criteria of the Candidates for different posts:

Principal
A. Essential Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/ Agri. Engineering/ Horticulture/ Veterinary Science followed
by a Master’s Degree in the concerned discipline including relevant basic sciences having at least
55% marks in traditional system or OGPA to 2.75 in 4 point scale or 7.0 in 10 point scale;
Doctoral degree in relevant subject including relevant basic science with 15(fifteen) years
experience in research/teaching/extension education of which 3 (three) years in the rank of
Professor or in an equivalent position; Outstanding contribution in terms of published papers in
reputed professional/National/international Journal/Books or other contributions and recognition.
Age limit maximum 50(fifty) years relaxable by 5(five) years in case of SC/ST/PH candidates
and Govt. Servants.
B. Desirable: Experience of guiding PG students/Ph.D. Research works; should be an eminent
personality in the field of Higher Education ; Administrative experience in a responsible position
in an Agricultural University /College/Research Centre.
Professor:
A. Essential Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/ followed by a Master’s Degree in the concerned
discipline including relevant basic sciences having at least 55% marks in traditional system or
OGPA to 2.75 in 4 point scale or 7.0 in 10 point scale in the concerned subject with consistent
good academic record; Doctoral degree in relevant subject including relevant basic sciences;
10(ten) years experiences in research/teaching/extension education in the Agricultural University
/ NARS as Associate Professor/ Senior Scientist in the scale of Rs. 37,400-67,000/-(revised) or
in an equivalent position; contribution to research/teaching/extension education as supported by
published work/ innovation; max. Age limit 50 (fifty) years relaxable by 5(five) years in case of
SC / ST/ PH candidates & Government servants.
B. Desirable: Adequate experience of teaching and guiding Post Graduate students.

Associate Professor:
A. Essential Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/ followed by a Master’s Degree in the concerned
discipline including relevant basic sciences having at least 55% marks in traditional system or
OGPA to 2.75 in 4 point scale or 7.0 in 10 point scale with consistent good academic record;
Doctoral degree in relevant subject including relevant basic sciences with specialization in
indicated field and 3(three) years experiences (excluding the period spent for Ph.D studies) in the
relevant subject as Assistant Professor/Scientist/ Lecturer/ Extension specialist or in an
equivalent position in the pay scale of Rs.15,600-39,100/- with AGP of Rs. 8,000/- (revised)
having made contribution to research/teaching/ extension education as evidenced by published
works/innovation OR Doctoral degree in relevant subject including relevant basic sciences with
specialization in concerned field and 3(three) years experience (excluding the period spent for
Ph.D.studies) of high quality post – doctoral research in a scientific institution as evidenced by
publications in high impact/ renowned journals; Max. Age limit 45(forty five) year relaxable by
5(five) years in case of SC/ST/PH candidates & Government servants.
B. Desirable: Experience of teaching and guiding Post Graduate students.

Assistant Professor:
A. Essential Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture / Agri.Engineering / Hortliculture / Veterinary Science
followed by a Master’s Degree in the concerned discipline including relevant basic sciences
having at least 55%marks in traditional system or OGPA to 2.75 in 4 point scale or 7.0 in 10
point scale in the concerned subject with consistent good academic record; NET conducted by
ICAR/ASRB/UGC/CSIR ; For Veterinary discipline, candidates must possess recognized
Veterinary qualification included in the first or second schedule of the Indian Veterinary Council
Act, 1984 and registered with the State Veterinary Council/ Veterinary Council of India
(Relaxable in Livestock Production & Management and Vety. & A.H. Extension); Max. Age
limit 37(thirty seven) years relaxable by 5(five) years in case of SC/ST/PH candidates &
Governments Servants.
B. Desirable: Experience of teaching U.G./P.G. students.

Period of probation: 2(two) years for all the above posts.

EMOLUMENTS:
Principal: Scale of pay: Pay band Rs.37, 400-67,000/- with AGP of Rs.10, 000/- per month and
Rs.2, 000/- as allowances for Principal. Professor: Scale of Pay: Pay band Rs.37, 400-67,000/-
with AGP of Rs.10, 000/- per month. Associate Professor: Scale of Pay: Pay band Rs.37, 400-
67,000/- with AGP of Rs.9, 000/- per month subject to the revision by the Government time to
time (revised). Assistant Professor: Scale of Pay: Pay band Rs. 15,600-39,100/- with AGP of
Rs.6,000/- per month subject to the revision by the Government time to time (revised).Other
Allowances: For all the above Posts other allowances will be as admissible to the State
Government employees.
Relaxation of Age:
The SC/ST/PH candidates will not get further relaxation of age for 5(five) years over and above
relaxation of 5(five) years which they are already entitled to get as SC/ST candidates.
#Retired persons fulfilling the eligibility criteria may also apply which may be considered on
special circumstances at the discretion of the Government of Tripura as per State Govt. rules.
Reservation:
Rules of reservation as per State Government rules shall apply.
*Screening Committee may shortlist the candidates for the purpose of calling for interview.
TA/DA for Attending Interview:
Short listed candidates shall only be invited for interview and decision of the government is final.
Travelling expenses for the purpose of attending the interview shall be reimbursed in 2 nd AC
category train fare from the address of the applicant. Air fare shall be provided only for Kolkata-
Agartala and Guwahati-Agartala Sector.
Others:
Eligible and interested candidates are requested to submit their applications along with detailed
Bio-data to the Director of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Agartala, Tripura-799001, super
scribing on the envelope “ Application for the post of ………College of Agriculture,
Tripura”. The application with complete Bio-data (enclosing attested photocopies of
testimonials and two passport size photographs) shall have to reach to the office of the
undersigned on or before 10th February, 2011.The Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Tripura
reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post at any time without giving any reason. The
Department may relax the qualification/experience and age limit at its discretion at any stage in
