Day 2: Lockdown

Word for the Day: “EMPOWER”

Business Turnaround: “Empower the Employer”

Are you an SME that's facing new problems and challenging times in your traditional
business, or are you an employee who is insecure about his future in the current
market situation?

The first thing we need to realize is that we are not alone. The majority of the world
has been hit by this catastrophe. What has happened cannot be changed but what can
happen now is in your hands.

The rules of doing business have now changed forever and the scales have reversed.
Now it is not your employer/client who can empower you as much as you will need to
empower them to stay afloat. Stay afloat so that they can afford to sustain as an
organization and pay your salaries/ commissions/ fees.

What is of utmost importance is that the organization must survive. The business
model may need to change or be tweaked but the organization will need to survive
and eventually thrive. This is the time where the employers will take good stock of
their liabilities and assets in terms of their businesses, employees, talent pool and
materials. Anything that is perceived as a drain on the resources of the company will
be speedily dispensed with.

In this situation new partnerships will be forged with people, resources and entities
that will help them do the following:
1) Cut operational costs
2) Provide massive value
Old relationships will be retained only if and if they cater to the above 2 points.
Options of workforce will be available aplenty and but employers will diminish. It
will not be easy for Small and Medium Entrepreneurs to weather this storm

These are 20 questions you need to ask yourself to continue to be RELEVANT in

the new marketplace.

1) What are the greatest pain points of my Employer/Client/Target audience?

2) What would it take to help rid them of that Pain?
3) How can I enable the process that would rid them of that pain?
4) How can I enlist their support in furthering my plan?
5) Who are the key people I would need to connect with and approach?
6) Who will form my core team to re-strategise and activate this process?
7) What would be the time frame that would be needed for this process to be
enabled?
8) What would be the time frame that would be needed for this process to
culminate?
9) What is the desired detailed result expected at the end of this process?
10) What are the Challenges that I expect on the way?
11) What are the opportunities I can create so that others retain their jobs?
12) Who are my key competitors in this process?
13) How can I collaborate with my competitors by making them my allies?
14) What are the new skills that the workforce and I would need to develop to
further this objective?
15) What are the new tools that they and I would need to be equipped with?
16) What is new profile of the clients that will emerge in the changing scenario?
17) What are the new needs that these clients will have that I can cater to?
18) What are the 3 greatest opportunities that I see for myself in the current
adversity?
19) What will my bank balance look like at the end of 1 year?
20) How will my future landscape look like ie What will I be doing with the
money I make at the end of 1 year? (Close eyes and imagine)
