Orientation luminaires General safety information
Warning!

Before carrying out maintenance and
installation on the luminaire, discon-
nect from the mains supply and ensure
that all power is switched off.
- The cable must be connected on site
to ensure the necessary IP rating and to
the required protection class.
- Never operate luminaires with damaged
connection cables.
Attention!
- Do not open the luminaire. If damaged,
the entire luminaire must be returned
to the factory.
- When installing, always observe the
national installation and accident pre-
vention regulations.
Intended use
- The luminaire is dust- and pressure-
water tight. It is protected against the
consequences of continuous submer-
sion up to a maximum depth of 3m
(IP68 3m).
- The luminaire is suitable for both out-
door and indoor use.
Notes on corrosion protection
- All recessed in-ground luminaires must
be installed with a suitable drainage
system in place, e.g. a gravel bed. Please
ensure that the installation the luminaires
allows water to run off their surface.
- Ensure that the powder coating is not
damaged during installation or mainte-
nance work. Any damage, which becomes
wet, can result in corrosion occurring.
The luminaire is approved for use in
grounds with a pH value of 5 to 8. In
aggressive environments, the installation
and maintenance of all parts will require
appropriate protective measures. Chemi-
cals damage the corrosion protection.
Choosing the mounting location
Position the luminaire so as to avoid
operation in direct sunlight or near
other sources of heat. High ambient
temperatures can reduce the life and
efficiency of the control gear or LED

Mounting options
- The luminaires are suitable for instal-
lation in underfloor electrical trunking
with screed covering, hollow floors, hol-
low walls or suspended ceilings having
a minimum thickness of 10mm.
- Separate recessed housings are avail­
able for installation in plastered brick-
work and concrete.

Note: Installation requires a minimum
recess depth of 70mm.
1. Prepare an installation opening of
∅ 32mm or ∅ 45mm to a tolerance of
+1mm/-0mm.
2. Insert mounting bush “A”.
3. Pull the connection cable out of the
installation opening.
Note: Use the separate tool kit for
installation in ducts.

inserted into the installation housing

Electrical connection
- Ensure connection to control gear
with protected low voltage (SELV) acc.
to EN 61558 or EN 61347.
- The electrical connection must be
made in a suitable connection compart-
ment. Incorrect installation can result
in moisture entering the luminaire
through the connection cable. It must
be ensured that the cable connection
is watertight. We recommend using
coupling or branch sleeves and two-
component cast resin jointing.
- The cable gland must not be opened.
- If the free end of the cable from
the orientation luminaire is to be laid
directly in the ground, it must be suit­ably
contained in a protective conduit (sup-
plied by the installer).
1. Connect the connection cable to the
luminaire.
2. For through-wiring, also connect the
continuing cable.

Final installation
1. Before final installation, conduct a
general function test.
2. Check the alignment of all luminaires
and insert each into its mounting bush
“A” or into the installation openings of
the concrete or flush-mounted recessed
housing.
Note: Floor washlights are positioned
with the ERCO logo facing up.

Dimming
The luminaires cannot be dimmed.

Information on the safety glass

Safety information
- There is an increased risk of slipping
on wet glass.
- If the safety glass is defective, the
entire luminaire must be replaced.
Load
The safety glass used can withstand a
load of 5000N.
Loads caused by hard objects, impacts
or blows must be avoided.
Surface temperature
Approx. 5°C above ambient temperature
(max. ambient temperature 35°C).

Cleaning
Always clean carefully using a soft
cloth and a commercially available,
ph-neutral, alcohol-free, non-abrasive
cleaning agent.
Cleaning the safety glass
Safety glass can be cleaned with clean-
ing agents that are also suitable for
glass-ceramic cooking hobs.

Disposal
In accordance with EU Directive
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Elec-
tronic Equipment), luminaires must not
be disposed of with other household
waste. At the end of their life, lumi-
naires must be taken to the appropriate
local facility available for the disposal
or recycling of electronic products.
