USES
KAN-SUPRA Polyurethane Clear has high chemical
resistance and is particularly suited to wood surfaces.
It is a versatile coating with excellent gloss retention
and is easily applicable by brush, roller or spray.
DESCRIPTION
KAN-SUPRA Polyurethane Clear is a two-component
product available in a packing of component A 3.2
liter, component B 0.8 liter.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
KAN-SUPRA Polyurethane Clear is an industrial finish
that requires sound preparation for optimum results.
Remove dirt, dust, grease, oil, salt and other
contaminates from the surface prior to painting. Use
hand or power tool clean to a steel surface.
PRIMING
Before application of paint, surface is smoothened
with a primer. The recommended primer before
application of KAN-SUPRA Polyurethane Clear is
polyurethane primer.
THINNING
Thinner is added to paint before application to
achieve the desired viscosity. Different quantity of
thinner is added depending upon the application tool.
Recommended thinner for KAN-SUPRA Polyurethane
Clear is thinner for PU.
THINNING
APPLICATION
Freshly mixed material must not be added to material
which has been in use for some time. Ensure you
read and understand safety precautions on data
sheet. Never add thinner other than recommended.
Do not apply polyurethane finish at temperature below
10oC or relative humidity levels above 85%. Maximum
o
recoat intervals 48 hours at 25 C should ths time
interval be exceeded the surface must be lightly
abraded. Stir each component thoroughly before
mixing. Add Comp. ‘B’ to Comp. ‘A’ in the ratio
supplied and mix until uniform in color and
consistency. Allow to digest for 20 minutes before
application.
KAN-SUPRA Polyurethane Clear can be applied
using roller, brush, conventional or airless spray.
Apply an even coat to the recommended film build
using a brush or roller. While using a spray apply one
wet coat overlapping the last one by 50%. Standard
equipment such as Graco, Hermex, Binks or others
using a 28:1 pump ratio for airless spray can be used.

DRY AND RECOAT
Dry and recoat times are based on 25oC and 50%
relative humidity. Dries to touch in 2 hours and to and
dries to handle in 16 Hours. Wait 8 hours before
recoating base coats. A spreading rate of (10-14)
m2/litre corresponds to (30-40) micrometers dry film
thickness assuming no losses on a non-porous and
non-absorbent surface.
Practical spreading rates will vary depending on such
factors as methods, conditions of application and
surface roughness.
CLEAN UP
Clean up all equipment with Urethane Thinner
immediately after use.
