Functional Expertise:-
- ECDIS: Proficient with Furuno (FEA & FMD series), Transas as well JRC systems.
- Cargo Operations: Aided Chief Officers in cargo loading & discharging operations as well as
C.O.W. achieving fast port turnaround times to the full satisfaction of Charterers and Terminal
representatives.
- Ancillary Operations: Aided Chief Officers in Tank Cleaning, Purging, Gas Freeing as well as
during Ballast Water exchange operations.
- Safety Officer: Spearheaded various initiatives on-board such as safety campaigns, making of
presentations for easy & informative equipment familiarisation.
- Paperwork: Regularly helped Master & Chief Officer in upkeep of vessels filing systems
including singlehandedly & proactively managing many logs and records pertaining to various

- Port Papers: Being quick with computers, have been able to minimise time taken in preparing
Port Papers by efficiently handling programmes like S.A.S. (Ship Administration System), etc.

Career Highlights:-
- Lauded for excellent safety culture by peers as well as seniors on-board and in office on
numerous occasions, have received many tokens of appreciation for the same.
- Helped vessel secure prizes by reporting the highest number of Hazards (monthly) / TSOPs
(Behavioural Observations) on various occasions.
- Spearheaded awareness sessions of making / recording observations in line with company
policy with support of my peers so as to bring vessel monthly observation numbers up by
almost 5 times, resulting in my vessels securing winning and, on some occasions, runners up
spots in monthly vessel observation reports.
- Commended for good interpersonal skills and public relations by numerous terminal
representatives, Inspectors and Technicians.
- Took active interest and played a major role in helping vessels with transitioning to another
ECDIS system on more than 1 occasion.
- Liaised directly (under Master’s supervision) with the company technical team and
manufacturer’s representative WRT troubleshooting post installation of new ECDIS system on-
board.
- Handled basic medical procedures and treated crew under guidance of ‘Future-Care’ and
supervision of Master on a few occasions including treating of abscess boils due to ingrown hair,
severing of phalange tissue and nail, phalange fracture.
- Have been the ‘Go-To’ person WRT understanding and knowledge of latest company procedures
and policies.
- Took active interest in various on-board audits and their closure reports particularly WRT
Master’s Navigation audits.
- Was part of the OSC team on-board the Teesta Spirit handling GMDSS duties during the ill-fated
‘Cheeky Rafiki’ SAR operations in May 2014. Received an appreciation mail from Boston Coast
Guard for excellent communication during the operations

- Have never got a single Vetting / PSC observation in my entire career in Navigation, or in LSA
FFA, have been part of various vessel teams to have achieved Zero Vetting / PSC observations
regularly.
Skill Set:-
- Experience of working in groups including planning (JHA & Risk Assessment), role allocation
(task delegation), co-ordination (effective communication) & efficient teamwork bringing about
safe performance of tasks.
- Presentation skills and confidence demonstrated during delivery of group presentations to
groups of up to 25 in safety meetings as well as during drills and training sessions.
- Calm demeanour enables me to make good decisions in high-pressure situations like critical
stages of cargo operations, close quarter situations while encountering fishing traffic & while
navigating busy waterways.

- Successfully participated and completed the ‘Train the e-Learner (TeL)’ workshop conducted by
Maritime Trainers’ Guild (on 19/07/2020) in adherence to D.G. Shipping circular 19 of 2020

- Successfully participated in UK P&I CLUB LIVE WEBINAR (Series 5) : Practical aspects of
Passage Planning and Bridge Resource Management (on 13/08/2020).
