The major subject covers 3 distinct areas to be considered which the following are:
1. Global & Geography – international, globalized, countries can be seen around the
world and lastly the current situations of the countries including their ECONOMIC,
SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENT issues or trends
2. Tourism- top destination, attractions found in those countries
3. Culture- distinct/ unique culture that can be found in the countries, and also the
cultural issues faced by their country.
So the question now, why do we have to take the subject?
As a tourism student you will more likely to be employed outside of the Philippines
whether you are a flight attendant, cruise liner staff, a tour guide and so on and so
forth. You have to learn what is the country you would be working with most specially
how people on that country behaves, what cultural practices you should be adopting,
what relevant information you can give out to your tourists. It is actually can be
considered as one of the most difficult subject for tourism major but if you would try to
be more open minded on the benefits the subject can give you will appreciate it more.
So with that what I want you do to while we are at the extended community extension:
