After the installation process is completed, the last step of the installation wizard will be
presented:
Click Close to close the Complete window.
Perquisites:
o Make sure you have installed SQL server
o Make sure you have installed Blue Prism
When Blue Prism is launched for the first time it is necessary to specify the database connection details.
The connection details describe how Blue Prism will connect to the database.
Following are the step by step instructions to set up the database connection information for the SQL
Server within Blue Prism
1. Click Configure. This will launch the wizard that can be used to provide the connection information.
2. In the Connection Configuration window, enter the connection information for the database server
and target database as shown below. Click on Create Database button.
The Database Server can be found by opening the Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (that we installed above)
and copying the Server Name (see the screenshot).
4. In the next screen click on the check box to drop any existing database with the specified name
and then click ok.
5. After that, click on Test Connection to check whether we are in the right path.
6. Now we are good to login, press ok on pop-up window and one more ok on the configuration window.
you will be taken to the login screen.
By default, the user name and password is the same which is admin. Then click on sign in, a prompt will
appear to enter your new password.
7. On clicking OK in the pop-up, Blue Prism home screen should appear. Go to System tab to add the
License file (provided in the kit)
8. Click on the Install New License at the bottom right corner as shown below. Select the appropriate
license file from your local folder.
Additionally, you can create a new user by following ‘System tab Security on the left-hand side panel
Users Right-click on the Users in the sub-panel Create User Enter the User Name and
Password for the new user Assign appropriate attributes like password expiry date, roles etc. Finish
And that’s it! You are ready to go to the Studio tab and start creating the Blue Prism processes/objects.
