Installing SQL Server Management Studio 2014:

1. Download the software from Microsoft download site: http://www.microsoft.com/en-


us/download/details.aspx?id=42299.
2. Ensure that you download the appropriate version. according to the operating system running on
the machine (32 or 64 bit), on which SQL Server Management Studio will be installed. If you aren’t sure
which operating system type is installed on your machine, you can check it by right-clicking in My
Computer>Properties. The current operating system will be specified under System type.
o MgmtStudio 32BIT\SQLManagementStudio_x86_ENU.exe: 32-bit version for SQL Express 2014
o MgmtStudio 64BIT\SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe: 64-bit version for SQL Express 2014
3. After selecting the desired file, click on the Next button in the bottom-right corner and the
download will begin.

 Double click on the SQLManagementStudio_x##_ENU.exe. and Run to open the


Extracting Files window.
 Click Installation on the SQL Server Installation Center window and click New SQL Server
Stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation open the SQL Server 2014 Setup
window.
 Click to check I accept the license terms and click Next
 In Feature Selection step the only options that needs to be checked in order to install
SQL Server Management Studio is Management tools – basic and sub item: Management tools –
Complete.

 After the installation process is completed, the last step of the installation wizard will be
presented:
 Click Close to close the Complete window.

B. Installing Blue Prism:

1. Download the Blue Prism software here: https://portal.blueprism.com/products/enterprise


2. Double click on the installation file and complete the installation
3. Click on Next until the installation completes.
4. Double click on the Blue Prism icon that appears on the Desktop.

C. Creating Database Connection in Blue Prism:

Perquisites:
o Make sure you have installed SQL server
o Make sure you have installed Blue Prism
When Blue Prism is launched for the first time it is necessary to specify the database connection details.
The connection details describe how Blue Prism will connect to the database.

Following are the step by step instructions to set up the database connection information for the SQL
Server within Blue Prism
1. Click Configure. This will launch the wizard that can be used to provide the connection information.

2. In the Connection Configuration window, enter the connection information for the database server
and target database as shown below. Click on Create Database button.

The Database Server can be found by opening the Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (that we installed above)
and copying the Server Name (see the screenshot).
4. In the next screen click on the check box to drop any existing database with the specified name
and then click ok.

Database will be created. Click OK.

5. After that, click on Test Connection to check whether we are in the right path.
6. Now we are good to login, press ok on pop-up window and one more ok on the configuration window.
you will be taken to the login screen.

By default, the user name and password is the same which is admin. Then click on sign in, a prompt will
appear to enter your new password.

7. On clicking OK in the pop-up, Blue Prism home screen should appear. Go to System tab to add the
License file (provided in the kit)

8. Click on the Install New License at the bottom right corner as shown below. Select the appropriate
license file from your local folder.
Additionally, you can create a new user by following ‘System tab  Security on the left-hand side panel
 Users  Right-click on the Users in the sub-panel  Create User  Enter the User Name and
Password for the new user  Assign appropriate attributes like password expiry date, roles etc.  Finish

And that’s it! You are ready to go to the Studio tab and start creating the Blue Prism processes/objects.
