In the March of 2018, Phani moved to Hyderabad because of his job.

He found a senior front-end

developer role at a big IT company which offered him a decent salary and a good work life balance.
He became very skilful in making brilliant interfaces for applications and they became an instant hit
with customers in most cases. In the month of April, he saw a gym close to his house and subscribed
to a one-year membership there.

Being the fitness freak he was, he religiously went to the gym everyday and has developed a routine
in which he would dedicate one day for each muscle group in his body. After one year in the April of
2019, he was comparing his pictures taken exactly one year before and he was very disappointed to
see that he looked almost the same except for the tightening of muscles at some places. Dejected
with his results he thought of consulting the trainer in the gym.

Mani was the gym trainer at gym and he was approached by Phani. After Phani explained everything
to him, Mani saw a major flaw in Phani’s effort. Nowhere has he mentioned about taking any special
diet to achieve his desired result. Mani immediately pointed out the deficiency in the process that he
had followed all the year and he recommended seeing the nutritionist who was his good friend.

The next week Phani along with Mani met Ms. Das who was a certified nutritionist and had a fitness
handle on Instagram herself. She was the go-to person in such cases. She promptly took out her
scribbling pad and explained Phani that body responded to changes in diet faster than even regular
exercising. Phani took her recommendations and by July 2019 every person who has not met him in
the last three months were exclaiming about his makeover. Overwhelmed with such positive
feedback Phani’s entrepreneurial streak kicked in. He quickly saw a lucrative business opportunity.

He went and met Mani and Ms. Das and they were delighted to hear the business proposition. It
contained the following information :-

With changing lifestyle habits in India, a large percentage of the population are becoming
overweight and all the lifestyle related diseases like diabetes, blood pressure etc., are becoming
common. Though most of them have excellent access to information, they lacked the knowledge to
understand the science behind eating healthy. Most of them did not know where to look for and
what to eat even though that they had a strong desire to see a change in themselves.

To give them all the knowledge that they need about the diet they need to take at one place Phani
proposed to develop an application. It will contain all the information, tips about DIY healthy meals,
snacks that will help them to eat healthy food. They especially targeted people who had the
aspiration to become healthier, but lacked the time to spend doing physical exercises. So, Phani
quickly started developing the code necessary for the app with the help of three young interns. They
started filming Mani, who looked like the epitome of fitness, in which he would be explaining various
aspects of eating healthy. Ms. Das provided all the background research for the videos continuously
coming up with the combinations of food that would give the best results.

She was trying to design a meal for stay at home mothers who did not have the luxury of time to use
the gym because of young children staying at home. She wanted to give them the right amount of
protein, carbs, vitamins and minerals while keeping the calorie count less so that they would not
gain much weight during the post-pregnancy and infant caring phase. A few constraints she had in
mind was, the calorie count should just be about what is necessary for an adult female in India and
not more. She had the had always emphasised on Diary protein and the digestive benefits of it. She
recommended 1/5th of every meal to be milk/curd. She recommended eating boiled vegetable
curries in the ratio of 25 grams for every 75 grams of the staple food (would be mostly rice or wheat
rotis in Indian context). She had in mind that the ideal weight of the meal should be less than
600gms. Below are exhibits which give information about the various food items and the nutrional
values associated with them.
