The Manifest Global Campus Prayer-thon

Abstract

“I am going to pray this year like I have never prayed. I feel the
lightness for it, I feel the grace and calling for it. If you’re a
serious Christian, this year seek God, and seek him yourself.”
Apostle Grace Lubega
The Night of Prayer

Prayer is a cardinal part of Manifest Fellowship Uganda. As such, we believe in the habit
of Meeting to pray together, this time virtually. The Campus Prayerthon is a weekly
virtual Friday night prayer meeting, with a vision to bring together all Manifest
Fellowship Campus Chapters in Uganda, East Africa and in the diaspora on an online
prayer chain from 11pm to 6am EAT. The Campus Prayerthon is in its fourth edition and
was launched by Manifest Fellowship Uganda on Friday, 7th August 2020. Over 1000
students from various Universities have been in attendance. In Uganda, about 20
institutions across all regions have participated. Among these are; Makerere University,
Makerere University Business School, Kyambogo University, Uganda Christian
University, Gulu University, Mbarara University (MUST), KIU Ishaka and many others.
In East Africa, UBT Rwanda and Adventist University of Central Africa. In South Sudan,
the University of Juba, and also Universities in Kenya, Zambia, Mauritius and China
among others are on board.
Mode of operation

The Campus Prayerthon is led by Manifest campus leaders from different Campus
Chapters from 11pm to 6am EAT. A line up is published in time so as to ascertain their
availability and confirm their sessions. Each Manifest Campus Leader usually leads a 20-
minute prayer session. The Campus Prayerthon operates a live stream production which
is held on the Zoom Application and the host sets up a Zoom meeting and circulates both
the meeting ID and password on all Manifest platforms. E-fliers too are circulated to
publicize and invite students to the prayer meeting.

At the time of the event, the participants are admitted into the meeting by the host and
immediately muted. Only the leader of a session is permitted to unmute their selves for
the mentioned purpose.

Objectives of the Manifest Campus Prayerthon

1. To establish unity among all Manifest Fellowship Campus Leaders across the
world through the Spirit of Prayer and Supplication.
2. The Campus Prayerthon is a prayer altar set to stir up the flames of revivals,
reformation and multiplication of the Word of God in all Universities across the
world.
3. To create a culture and lifestyle of prayer in the Manifest Fellowship Campus
Ministry.
4. To establish a Manifest Campus Prayer Network (MCPN) to connect University
students across the world.
