SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The precautions to be observed to ensure safe operation of the machine are described here.
The machine must not be operated until these precautions have been thoroughly understood.

RULE
1. This section contains the precautions to be observed as to the working methods and states
usually expected. Of course, however, unexpected operations and/or unexpected working
states may take place at the user site.
During daily operation of the machine, therefore, the user must pay extra careful attention to
its own working safety as well as to observe the precautions described below.
2. The meanings of our safety precautions to DANGER, WARNING, and CAUTION are as
follows:

BASIC SAFETY ITEMS

K
ZA

! Reflected laser beams, spatters, etc. may fly out of a laser machine during an operation. So
A

keep away from an expected hazardous area, e.g. the distance from which you can look at
M

the torch. Careless approach to the torch during an operation may result in an injury like a

burn.

! A workpiece and/or a worksheet right after a laser operation is very hot. Direct contact to it

with a hand and the like may burn or harm you.

(c

! When an operation is performed with an actual laser beam, wear safety guards like
ht

protective goggles and safety shoes without fail.

op

! After turning on the power, keep off touching the switches on the operation panel until the
C

axial positions are called on the CNC screen or the ALARM screen appears.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

PRECAUTIONS IN PROGRAMMING
! Improper setting of a coordinate system will cause unexpected motions even though a
machining program is proper. Such a setting may harm you or break a workpiece and/or a
worksheet or the laser machine including the torch.
WARNING
! In order to run a machining program in a laser machine which allows a rotation of its torch,
make sure the nozzle is always facing to a worksheet. Otherwise the beam from the torch
may hurt you.
! After turning on the power, manually return all the axes home without fail. Until the axial
home returns complete, the software limit function is invalid; an alarm does not appear
even an axial mechanism runs over its travel limit. This may harm you or break a workpiece

and/or a worksheet or the laser machine including the torch.

ve
er
! Before starting a machining program on a workpiece and/or a worksheet for the first time,

s
re
make sure all the equipment runs properly beforehand. A hazard is caused by an operation

ts
using a function like single block, beam off, overrides, etc. or by a direct on-machine

operation without doing a trial run.
