RESEARCH METHODOLGY

3.1 Objectives of the study

• To analyze the employees attitude towards the concept of Empowerment.


• To find out the employees opinion about their management contribution towards
Empowerment.
• To analyze the decision making and control power of employees.
• To find out whether the employees are satisfied with the current working Environment.

3.2 Scope of the study

• The study can be used as a reference for future research in the same area.
• The study can be used to bring changes in future training provided by employees in the
organization.
• The study can be used by the organization for considering employees perception.
• The study is helpful for the management in understanding the employee’s attitude
towards the employees’ empowerment.

3.3 Research Design

The type or research design used for the study is descriptive research design.

3.4 Population of the study

The population of the study is 350 employees of SSM Finance Pvt Ltd.

3.5 Sample Unit

The sample unit is employees of SSM Finance Pvt Ltd,Chennai.

3.6 Sample Size

The sample size for this study is 100 respondents.

3.7 Sampling Method

The sampling method used for this study is simple random sampling for selecting the
samples.

3.8 Period of the study

The period of the study is from 90 days in SSM Finance And Realty Pvt Ltd, Chennai.

3.9 Data Collection

It is from the data that a researcher studies about a phenomenon and draw conclusions.
Data may be of two types. They are

• Primary Data
• Secondary Data
• Primary Data

Primary data are those, collected by the researcher himself for the first time and
thus they are original in character. Hence primary data was collection from the employees
themselves through the questionnaire.

• Secondary Data

Secondary data refers to the data which have already been collected and analysed
by someone else. Anyone who wants the same can use them. The researchers have to modify
such data for their individual requirements. Secondary data for this study is collected from
company publication, annual reports, company journals, company website, previous research
studies etc.

3.10 List of hypothesis

Null Hypothesis:

There is no relationship between Employee Experience and Employee Skill.

Alternative hypothesis:

There is relationship between the Employee Experience and Employee Skill.

3.11 Tools for analysis

The type of tools are used for the study is percentage analysis, weighted average
method, chi square test.

3.12 SPECIAL CONCEPT

Employee

An employee is someone who gets paid to work for a person or company. Workers don't need
to work full time to be considered employees—they simply need to be paid to work by an
employer (the person or business that pays them).

Empowerment

Empowerment is a set of measures designed to increase the degree of autonomy and self-
determination in people and in communities in order to enable them to represent their interests
in a responsible and self-determined way, acting on their own authority.

Skill

A skill is the ability to perform an action with determined results often within a given amount
of time, energy, or both. Skills can often be divided into domain-general and domain-specific
skills

Morale

Morale, also known as esprit de corps, is the capacity of a group's members to maintain belief
in an institution or goal, particularly in the face of opposition or hardship.

Positive Thinking

Positive thinking is an emotional and mental attitude that focuses on the good and expects
results that will benefit you. It’s about anticipating happiness, health and success – essentially,
training yourself to adopt an abundance mindset and cultivate gratitude for your own successes
and those of others.

Learnings

Learning is the process of acquiring new understanding, knowledge, behaviours, skills, values,
attitudes, and preferences. The ability to learn is possessed by humans, animals, and some
machines; there is also evidence for some kind of learning in certain plants.

3.13 LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

• The duration of the study is limited. So it may not be able to cover the entire scope.
• The data have been collected from the present permanent employees only. So it may
vary in the future.
• Few respondents answers were found to be personally biased.
• The researcher had to conduct the survey in the regional language due to low
qualification of the employees.

3.14. CHAPTERISATION

CHAPTER I: INTRODUCTION

This chapter deals with the introduction, industry profile, company profile and product
profile.

CHAPTER II: REVIEW OF LITERATURE

This chapter deals with the review of literature and problem identification.

CHAPTER III: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter deals with the objectives of the study, scope of the study, research design,
population of the study, sampling unit, sample size, sampling method, period of the study, data
collection method, list of hypothesis, tools for analysis, special concepts and limitation of the
study.

CHAPTER IV: DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION

This chapter deals with the data analysis and interpretation of the study. In this method
all the given data is converted into percentage and it is represented in the form of chart .

CHAPTER V: FINDINGS SUGGESTIONS AND CONCLUSION

The final chapter includes the Findings, Suggestions and Conclusion of the study.
