1 Preface
Don Bosco School (Here in after called DBS) is public school located in Hinjewadi,
Pune affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. It is school of great
repute with over 15 years in existence. The school provides education up to 10th Standard
with English as a medium of instruction.

Nipun Consultants (Here in after called as NC) is leading consultant in developing

information technology solutions in the e-learning domain and has an in-depth
experience in developing knowledge management systems.

DBS has requested NC to propose a solution for developing a Knowledge Management

System for modernization of teaching & learning activities for students of classes’ 8th, 9th
& 10th standards. DBS has requested NC to provide a solution covering following areas:

1. A software tool that would aid the delivery of contents by the teachers by using
computers, projectors and audio systems in class rooms for 8th,9th & 10th standards.
2. A library of contents in self running mode accessed by students through kiosks
placed in library.
3. A tool for providing self based evaluation on each topic or subject accessed through
kiosks placed in library.

Based on the above stated requirements NC proposes following options for solution:

Option A: An On Premise model based on web server architecture with server in school
premises.

Option B: A detailed System Requirement Study document and building a prototype

model for proposed system.

2 Scope of Work
Option A: (System Requirement study along with implementation)

 Conducting a System Requirement Study for understanding the user requirements in

detail.
 Developing architecture for proposed system.
 Building a prototype model for the system.
 Procuring necessary hardware & software licences for development and end users.
 Developing tools for accomplishing specified objectives of content delivery in class
room mode & self delivery mode along with self based evaluation.
 Setting up necessary infrastructure in the school for meeting the objectives.
 Deploying the system & accomplishing user acceptance testing.
 Providing necessary training.

Option B: (Only System Requirement Study & development of architecture)

  Conducting a System Requirement Study for understanding the user requirements in
detail.
 Developing architecture for proposed system.
 Building a prototype model for the system.

3 Client Dependencies & Commitment

All the system access, human resources interaction, remote connectivity, access to
physical infrastructure required to facilitate the timely completion of implementation/
customization of Knowledge Management System (KMS) will be provided to NC by
DBS. In addition following dependencies have been identified by NC.

5 Price, Terms & Conditions

5.1 Price
NC believes in activity based costing for each of the activities being carried out under
various options offered to DBS. The pricing can be described below:

5.2 Pricing Model

The pricing model is based on efforts required to complete each activity as specified by
the time duration with best efforts from the consultants at NC. The rates charged are as
per industry standards & applied in relation to the assignment at hand.

5.3 Set-Offs & Discounts

In case DBS decides initially to choose Option B, however, if it wishes to continue with
NC for carrying out the development & implementations as specified in Option A.
There would be waiver for fees charged for the activities already carried out. The
pricing for other activities would remain the same.

5.4 Taxes & Duties

The above prices shall be exclusive of taxes, including transaction taxes, sales tax,
service tax, import duties etc. All such taxes shall be borne by DBS. The above is also
exclusive of expenses like travel & accommodation outside Pune city limits which
would be billed at actuals by NC.

5.5 Validity of proposal

The proposal and mentioned pricing remains valid for a period of Six months from the
date of submission of the proposal. If there is no work order/ purchase order issued

 against this proposal by DBS within Six months of submission of this proposal, then all
the conditions & pricing of the proposal stands void.

6 Payment terms
The payment schedule for both Option ‘A & B’ will be as per following norms:

1. 80% of stated amount before the start of each activity of the project.
2. 20% of amount within 15 days of accomplishment of the specific activity.

7 Commencement of Work
The work would be commenced by NC within 2 weeks of release of purchase order &
accomplishment of down payment, amounting to 80% amount of first activity for either
of options.
