First Slide:

Due to the current pandemic we are experiencing, embracing change is a struggle and a journey
that needs knowledge, wisdom, strength & patience. We are fortunate, that inspite all odds in
our work, DepEd has made strategic interventions just to make sure that learning will continue.
This course was made possible to provide TA & empower school leaders to have grasp & KSAs
of the different LDMs prior to the opening of classes. This course was crafted by the NEAP with
the generous support & assistance by the Bureau partners in the Department, like BCD, BLD,
FIT-ED, & SERG. And since this is a course just like SHDP for School Heads & ILMP for
Supervisors, each of us will need to comply with all the requirements to be given certificate of
completion after this course.
For this LDM Course, we are going to focus on ourselves as instructional coach so we are going to take a
look and define what are our roles and responsibilities and what is the scope of our duty as an
instructional coach and how are we going to relate that one or how are we going to translate our
responsibilities as a coach to our constituents who are the teachers. Hence in this time of pandemic, we
are challenge specially in the delivery of teaching and learning that is why the NEAP is providing us
courses for us to be guided what things are we going to track, what plans are we going to implement
and how are we going to compare the implementation to see to it that everything will be in place comes
October 5, 2020. Good thing, the opening of classes was postponed because there is still Learning
Delivery Modality Course for Teachers which will happen on Sept. 14 to SePT. 30. So, our focus inn this
orientation is our function as instructional coaches. What is expected from us by the NEAP, what is from
Central Office, Regional Office, and what is expected from us by School Heads, and Teachers and
basically what is expected from us by our learners because they our products. We are just service
providers and at this moment we are very concerned more about our products. That is why this LDM
Course was being crafted by DepEd through NEAP to see to it that our products even in Modular
Distance Learning Modality, the learning outcome should be higher. So the purpose why this learning
delivery modality course was given to the coaches, schools heads and teachers is to ensure that we can
minimize the risk of unlearning and we can maximize the proficiency level and the learning outcomes for
our learners.

Course Overview:

This course is for instructional coaches (EPS, Supervisors, and those who are identified as Instructional
Coaches). So LDM2 will start to instructional coaches and the focus is on the instructional implication of
using this alternative LDM. So again, this focus on how our coaching affect the preparation of our
teachers. As of this time, our teachers are in doubts, what will happen on Oct. 5, and what will happen
for the rest of the days and for the rest of the weeks, and for the rest of the quarters. That is why we
need to take both steps in coaching our school heads and teachers to make sure that they are really
prepared comes October 5, and they are continuously preparing again themselves towards the rest of
the weeks and the rest of the quarters. So as designated ICs we are task to guide and assist teachers as
they go though this course. So for one week until next week, we are going to expose into different
courses, different modules, different lessons. What we are going to do here is to level off so that
whatever is the language of one, will be the language of everyone.

1. So later on we will agree how are we going to conduct LAC Session

2. The most challenging here is the execution. Planning is basic. Considering we have huge number of
teachers, we will make sure that comprehensively the information we will route would be even and
understood by each and every teacher.

3. So its not only execution that DepEd is asking us, but also of making TA & Coaching, how we could
extend help to the teachers considering diversity of teachers (different level of understanding , pacing &
hugot). So TA & coaching should fit in to the needs of the teachers

4. That we have to know what we are going to do if there will be problem in the field because of
unexpected circumstances. How are we going to make sure that everything will be addressed
accordingly. So one purpose in this course is to build up the confidence of instructional coaches so that
when final implementation comes and start our coaching and executing and implementing the activities,
we could do these great because we already know what we ought to do. So after the 5 modules, these
are the things that are expected from us.

Framework

• LCP capacity building will have two streams.

• This course you are taking now – LDM1 – is part of the first stream focused on the
implementation and management of the alternative learning delivery system at all levels of
the education system, and intended for school and division leaders.

• The second stream – LDM2 – is intended for teachers and focused on the instructional
implications of using these alternative learning delivery modalities.

This is very important. We need to explain this properly because there are still other school heads &
teachers who are just into the submission of outputs, but they are not concerned with the outcomes
specifically the learning outcome. So I hope we would be able to explain to them the Professional
Development Priorities of DepED under DM No. 50, S. 2020. This is a three year PD for teachers, school
heads and supervisors. Also the Memo shows the direction of DepEd and its personnel which are paired
up to COVID 19 response through LCP. Thus it doesn’t mean that there is no IPCR yet of teachers, we will
not focus anymore on PD of teachers. If we take a look at the framework, second box involves design
and implementation Principles and Guidelines with Internal and External Service Providers. Inside its box
is LCP Courses / Programs which aimed on Improved…, and this is under LDM1 for School Leaders and
Division Leaders that is why the final output of LDM1 is supposed to be LCP. And now we are going to
move to Regular PD Programs/Courses. These are for school heads and for teachers because the target
of this is to improved…specifically learning outcome is at risk at this time. So the question now is how
can we deliver Quality Instructional Delivery in “The New Normal” when LCP is not ready, when the
decision is appropriate, and the pedagogies, the content, knowledge and assessment is not ready and
our teachers and school heads are not ready for this. The LDM1 prepares the school heads and the
school for the operation of classes under pandemic and this LDM2 is the preparation for teachers to
improve their pedagogies, the knowledge of content and the result of assessment and these ensures
that quality instructional delivery in the new normal will be taken into consideration and should be
taken place smoothly. So pinaka target is sulong edukalidad. So the main purpose here is to prepare the
school heads and teachers that no matter what happens they know how to adjust to the situation to
ensure that quality instructional delivery in the new normal is still on going. We are talking issues
regarding feedbacks specially from teachers. Mostly are concerned only for outputs. But how about the
competencies, how bout the assessment, how will it go through. So this course 2, will allow us to
understand that this is a preparatory course for teachers in the opening of classes until COVID 19
disappears.

Course Overview

First Paragraph: So this time, you will appreciate the importance of LAC because as much as possible, we
would allow our teachers and school heads to work together, to collaborate together through Learning
Action Cell.

Course Overview

Module 1 – LAC Session for Supervisors, Instructional Coaches. What we are expected here is to
collaborate with specific tasks. Anu ung plano natin, pano e implement by team although all of us are
coaches na binuo ng isang team, so we are expected to conduct LAC Sessions per team.

Module 2 – Prompted to organize LAC Sessions for teachers. After Module 1, we are expected to
conduct LAC Session with teachers. Maximum Number Teams is only 5 per Instructional Coach.

So coaching will not also end up to Sept. 30, but also continuous.

Before we will be given certification fro NEAP with PRC accreditation.


Course Overview: Expected Outputs

So why these things are being asked as our outputs? Of course how are we to provide TA to our teachers
if we do not know how to do these tasks? If we do not know the data of our school? Teachers believed
that SHs and MTs have higher understanding level compared them. So we have to prove them that we
know these things that is why even Weekly Home Learning Plan is the work of the teacher to be checked
by SH, dapat alam na alamn natin pano gawin yan. Because what if the teachers have issues about it and
the SH or MTs don’t know too. This is the reason why as coach, as MTs, you need to be very versatile
specially when our teachers asked questions to us. If new teachers or struggling teachers asked you how
to make assessment, you should be able to provide TA to them. Ayaw ipasa2 sa lain. In our position, we
are expected by teachers that we could help them in times when they are confused. We should not
afford to say that we do not know these things. So in our own context, we should know these things,
because LAC Session will commence on the 14 th day of September and teachers will be asking questions
to the coaches if there are things that they do not understand, and we have to be ready with that. That
is why in our last objective in this course, is we are going to be confident to face our teams and to
answer the questions and provide TA accordingly to what are the needs of teachers. So DepEd expect us
to focus our attention to the LDM courses on Sept. 14-30, that we have to devote our time because
these would prepare us for this new normal of education

Organizing LAC

* Adult Learning Principle – teachers now are very reactive because of so may work stuffs
