Copy the objectives on the board and ask questions to students about the previous 10 min

Activity 3: *Attendance*
Reading / Disappearing text: Copy a text on the board including examples of the meanings of
Speaking articles that you have presented, and have one team of students read it out loud.

They then choose one word and that is erased. The team must then read out the
whole text, including the words that have disappeared. They then choose the next
word to disappear.
Activity 4: The verb To Be: If possible bring in a projector and give a slide show. Here’re a

Reading / brief lecture about the forms and use of the verb be. Allow Ss to ask questions at the
Listening end. Have Ss give their answers before you give yours.
Ss will complete exercises 19 and 20 on page 11. Then in groups of 4 Ss will compare
answers.

Activity 5: Ss will read the instructions on Ex. 21, Pg. 12. Play the recording and check with whole 10 min
class.

Role Play: Ss will complete Ex. 22, Pg. 12 and then divide the class in 4 groups. Locate

each group in different areas of the room or have some groups go to the yard (*Check
with your coordinator) and role play simultaneously. Monitor each group.
Activity 6: T will copy plenty of example of minimal pairs emphasizing /I/and /i:/.

Pronunciation
Ss in pairs sit back to back. Ss A says a word. Ss B spells the word. Swap roles and 15 min
Speaking repeat. After 5 min. swap partners and repeat exercise.

Activity 7: T will introduce capital letters and small letters. Use flash cards. Give some examples
and have students give their own examples.

Wrap Up Go over the day, by asking different Comprehension Checking Questions touching on 5 min
everything seen in class today.
Give each student a piece of paper, they write a comment about the class and give it
