E-commerce, also known as electronic commerce or internet commerce, refers to the buying and

selling of goods or services using the internet, and the transfer of money and data to execute
these transactions. These business transactions occurs either as B2B, B2C, C2B, and C2C. While
defining the e-commerce we find another term i.e. E- business also known as electronic business
or Online Business or e-business is any kind of business or commercial transaction that includes
sharing information across the internet. E-commerce constitutes the exchange of products and
services between businesses, groups and individuals and can be seen as one of the essential
activities of any business. Electronic commerce focuses on the use of ICT to enable the external
activities and relationships of the business with individuals, groups and other businesses, while
e-business refers to business with help of the internet. Electronic business differ from electronic
commerce as it does not only deal with online transactions of selling and buying of a product
and/or service but also enables to conduct business processes (inbound/outbound logistics,
manufacturing & operations, marketing and sales, customer service) within the value chain
through internal or external networks. As only defining e-commerce vs. e-business and also the
definitions of e-commerce and e-business we cannot know about the factors or key-drivers of e-
commerce. Some of the key drivers of e-commerce are given below:
 Technological factors
Technological factors is one of the key drivers of e-commerce. Due to the access of new
technological development, band with availability and internet rates technological factors
has been one of the factors or key-drivers of e-commerce.
 Political factors
Like technological factors, political factors is one of the factor or key-drivers of e-
commerce. Due to the number and type of government to support use and development of
modern technology and ability of the government to plan and adopt for technological
growth and development it has been the main factors and key-driver.
 Social Factors
Like technological factors and political factors social factors is the last and least point of
key drivers or factors of e-commerce. Due to the increase in the number of internet users
as well as literacy rate of people and also willingness and ability of the people to adopt
new technology has been one of the key factors or drivers of e-commerce.
