From writing research papers to making presentations, the skills developed

in the business communication course can help with virtually every other
course students take.

1. Landing the best available job. The job-search process is essentially

an interconnected set of business communication projects using a
variety of media and interpersonal communication skills. It’s a great
opportunity for students to put their finely tuned skills to work.
2. Positioning oneself for promotional opportunities. The managers
who make promotional decisions like to keep an eye on up-and-coming
talent, and communication skills play a critical role in how those
employees perform and how they are perceived by colleagues,
customers, and influential executives.
3. Becoming a more-effective online and offline networker.
Networking is a vital skill for everyone from entrepreneurs to top-level
corporate managers, and business communication equips people with
the audience insights and communication skills they need to become
valued and successful network participants.
4. Selling ideas, proposals, and products. The business world is littered
with great ideas and well-designed products that never caught on
because the people behind them didn’t know how to promote
themselves or their marvelous creations. Even professionals who never
come close to working in marketing or sales need to know how to
persuade—a valuable skill students will learn in this course.
5. Understanding audiences. Whether it’s the other person in a one-on-
one conversation or a global audience on digital media, knowing how
to assess someone else’s information needs and emotional state
improves every form of communication.
6. Developing digital information fluency. Finding, evaluating, and
using digital information in an age of data overload is a make-or-break
skill in many careers.
7. Avoid and resolving disputes. Understanding how communication
works—or fails to work—helps people minimize confusion, avoid
inadvertent insults, and keep tensions from escalating.
8. Interacting with people up and down the corporate
hierarchy. College-aged students aren’t always comfortable
communicating with older, more-experienced colleagues, managers,
and executives. Learning how to analyze an audience’s needs and
expectations can help anyone handle these challenges with grace and
confidence.

C)

My past year experience. I complete all test stages of the intelligence bureau,
but at the time of interview which is final process I am rejected so I listed the
reasons of my failure due to lack of communication skills. Furthermore,
in college at the of presentation I feel so frightened the reason of these
communication failures and how I overcome describe as following.

Failure to listen
Too many people focus on the speaking part of a conversation; after
all, that's the part you can control. But it's far more important to be a
good listener. Being a good listener first demonstrates that you're
invested in the conversation and makes the other person feel welcome
to share his or her thoughts.

Listening intently prevents interruption and other habits that can

interfere with the natural pattern of conversation and provides a stable
ground for mutual communication. Finally, and most importantly,
listening allows you to hear and understand what the other party
needs, giving you context and direction for your response. Without
that initial effort, the conversation will never go anywhere.

Failure to articulate
Sometimes, the simplest explanation for a failure in conversation is
the most accurate; if one party fails to express things in clear
and understandable terms, it stands to reason that the other party
won't have any idea what's going on.

For example, if you speak incoherently, or in a way that isn't well-

organized, the other party may be intently listening but still have
difficulty following. To prevent this, work on what you want to say
before the conversation if at all possible. Overly rehearsing can be a
bad thing (as you'll never be able to completely predict how the
conversation will go), but some prepartion could help you find the
right words for what you want to express.

Failure to express honestly

Communcation can also fail when one party refuses to express what
they're feeling or thinking honestly. It can be hard to be honest when
you're under pressure, or if you have a shy personality type.

For example, when you're trying to make a good impression at work,

you may second guess the value of your thoughts. However, honest
expression is vital if you want the conversation to progress.

 Failure to compromise
All conversations involve some kind of compromise. This is especially
evident when trying to resolve a problem, or negotiate a deal, but also
appears in more superficial conversations, such as deciding on a place
to eat dinner.

If one party is unwilling to budge on an issue, no progress can be

made; when the other party senses this stubbornness, they'll
immediately stop trying to make their case. Compromise isn't an
admission of defeat — it's a way of trying to maximize the payoffs
between two parties, and if you ignore that, you'll have only yourself to
blame when the conversation stops.

Ultimately, successful conversations are dependent on two people

willing to reach a mutually satisfying conclusion.

Recommendation of implementing an employs fitness program.

After careful research, I concluded that the implementing this employee
fitness program gives positive result and helps in reducing the high number of
sick leaves.
I would be happy to discuss the details of this program with you at any time. I
can be reached at 03003638165 or at sameer17744@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

I am going for quick business trip for the next four days during next week so I won't be able to go to
our meeting which we schedule to meet on Tuesday. Instead, I would give you some ideas about
the project to get you started. As you know, one of your responsibilities will be to help us
develop a database of prospects, particularly meeting planners at state and federal agencies
located within 500 miles. Developing our capacity to hold green meetings as part of our core
strategic initiatives could be a great opportunity. We think government agencies, who usually
have repeat meetings, are more likely to seek out green meetings.

that includes the information of designated meeting planners in this state and
federal agencies within 500 miles that will allow us to send out periodic marketing
messages via email, mail, and phone. Gather contact information, frequency and
size of meetings how much they prioritize green meetings, etc. Make sure to ask
every planner you interview what their key criteria are in selecting a venue and
rate each lead on how likely they are to get our services. To contact planners, it's
better to call first to get the contact information of the planner then try to contact
them directly. Wait for three working days before trying to contact them again. If
they don't return the call, try contacting them via email. Make sure you are
polite. If you have any questions, please call me on my mobile phone.
Thanks Tia
