5.3 Protocol
The BodyGuard has the facility to store 26 different drug protocols, programming
these protocols could be a long process, if using the pump alone.
BodyComm enables the protocols to be easily programmed and as with the pump
setup option a macro can be recorded and recalled to enable more than one pump
to be quickly programmed with the same protocols.
Each protocol can be printed to enable them to be re-entered if there is a problem
with the pump or the protocols are tampered with.
Click on the Protocol button, this screen is shown.
Record
To enable protocols to be saved and used to program multiple pumps, a macro
needs to be recorded.
To record a macro is very simple, follow these steps:
Click Record Macro. Enter Drug Name continue down the list entering the ‘number’
settings and clicking OK, a phrase will appear in the text box, this phrase is the
command the pump needs to store the value. If there are any ‘option’ settings
needed to be changed, these can not be stored on a macro. And will need to be
altered every time the macro is run. If the pump is to have multiple protocols select
the next Drug name and repeat the programming for each drug.
