Lapras G-Max (F) @ Life Orb

Ability: Shell Armor
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVS: 28 HP / 84 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 140 Spe
Modest Nature
IVS: 0 Atk

Lapras has the most standard set. When I used it, it was always gigantamax,
because I needed that power to ensure the OHKO against non-bulky Dragapult,
Togekiss, etc.
209 HP: With this, Lapras mitigated the dmg of Life Orb and at the same time
I could take advantage of the grassy terrains of the opponents.
98 SPE: With 98 Speed I could Beat Turbo-Amoongus, the base 70 Pokemon
with few EVs, and most notably, I could beat the base 81 +SPE Pokemon when
they were at -1, which made Lapras paired with scary face Urshifu a big threat.
For example, if I use G-Max Resonance and Scary Face I could defeat Togekiss
before he becomes a threat to Urshifu. If my opponent uses dynamax in
Togekiss, Lapras will be able to use Aurora Veil first and make it @HKO
before he attacks again, even if he uses max air stream and it’s 252+ SPD, the
situation is similar with Rillaboom.

I decided to use Seaking because of its ability, Lighting Rod. It was used to
win the Laprar mirror, and to deal with electric Pokemon, or very bulky
Pokemon such as Porygon2, Milotic or Chansey.
Another role it had was to help me transition thanks to its bulk and its ability.
Horn Drill seemed like a very useful tech to me when I faced stall teams.
Nothing better than a driller to knock down a good wall hahaha!
Offensive
- Seaking Horn Drill vs. 252 HP / Def Eviolite Porygon2: 258-304 (999 –
999%) – guaranteed Death

Urshifu-Gmax @ Focus Sash
Ability: Unseen Fist
Level: 50
EVS: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wicked Blow
- Close Combat
- Scary Face
- Detect
The purpose of Urshifu is to outspeed base 96 pokemon to be able to use Scary
Face before they move, allowing the rest of my team to outspeed them.
In order to achieve that, it needs 252 evs in speed with positive nature so it left
me with very few evs to invest in bulk so I decided to slap a focus sash on it
and dump the rest of evs in attack to help grab more Kos for the rest of the
team.
Gyarados (M) @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Moxie
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVS: 100 HP / 36 Atk / 4 Def / 116 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVS:
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Taunt
- Flamethrower
This was the most difficult slot to fill, due to the boom of Venusaur, Torkoal
and Dusclops. I wanted a Pokemon that would put me at an advantage against
different threats, and Gyarados was the only that allowed me that versatility.
Safety goggles allowed Gyarados to use Taunt against Dusclops, and to hit
Venusaur without worrying Sleep Powder shenaningans. Alongside G-Max
resonance, Gyarados Flamethrower could beat Gmax Venasaur. In daddition,
it is also a pokemon that can deal very well with Ferrothorn, Escavalier, etc.
The most important thing about this EV Spread is that it allowed me to resist 2
G-max Vine Lash.
Defensive
- 252+ SpA Life Orb Venusaur G-Max Vine Lash (140 BP) vs. 100 HP /
116 SpD Gyarados: 129-152 (35.2 – 41.5%) – guaranteed 3HKO – Never
2HKO considering the damage of G-Max Vine Lash
Tentacruel (F) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Clear Body
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVS: 172 HP / 180 Def / 100 SpA / 4 SpD / 52 Spe
Modest Nature
IVS: 0 Atk
- Sludge Bomb
- Scald
- Giga Drain
- Protect
I consider Tentacruel a good Pokemon in the actual metagame. Thanks to
Clear body, it doesn’t get a drop in speed when paired with scarf Dracovish.
That way, I could outspeed common threats like Cinderace or Togkeiis while
activating Weakness Policy in the process.
It has decent bulk and movepool, so even if it’s not the most offensive
pokemon, it can grab a couple of boost thanks to Max Ooze and from the rain
from Max Geyser.
It’s difficult to use though because you are almost forced to switch out after
using bulldoze with Dracovish so it acted more as a Bol cheese to help me get
quick advantage in game 1.
Offensive
- +2 100+ SpA Tentacruel Max Ooze (90 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite
Clefairy: 198-234 (111.8 – 132.2%) – guaranteed OHKO.
Defensive
- 252+ SpA Lapras Max Lighting (140 BP) vs. 172 HP / 4 SpD Tentacruel
in Electric Terrain: 146-174 (41.2 – 49.1%) – guaranteed 3HKO
- 252+ Atk Rillaboom Grassy Glide vs 172 HP / 180 Def Tentacruel in
Grassy Terrain: 93-109 (52.5 – 61.5%) chance to 2HKO after Grassy
Terrain recovery.

Dracovish @ Choice Scarf

Ability: Strong Jaw
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVS: 12 HP / 148 Atk / 4 Def / 180 SpD / 164 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fishious Rend
- Psychic Fangs
- Outrage
- Bulldoze
I need a way to activate Tentacruel’s Weakness Policy, so I picked the most
common water type scarfed pokemon, Dracovish.
As its main purpose was to activate said weakness policy and with the team
being a mono water team I needed to survive Venusaur’s G-Max Vine Lash,
with as many pokemon as possible so that is the reason why it’s not as offensive
as the standard set.
It has Psychic Fangs to be able to KO Venasaur in conjunction with Gyarados.
Defensive
- 252+ SpA Life Orb Venasaur G-Max Vine Lash (140 BP) vs. 12 HP /
180 SpD Dracovish: 140-165 (83.8 – 98.8%) – guaranteed 2HKO

Matchups.

Vs Torkoal Venusaur
Leads: Gyarados + Dracovish; Gyarados + Lapras; Urshifu + Lapras.
Depending on the rest of the team, I used One lead or another, dependind the
Bo3.
Psychic Fangs + Max Airstream OHKO Venusaur
Flamethrower + G-Max Resonance OHKO Venasaur
Wicked Blow + G-Max Resonance OHKO Dusclops

Vs Lapras Mirror
Leads: Lapras + Urshifu with Seaking in the back
I can do damage with this lead and in the second or 3 turn change to seaking to
stall the Lapras Dynamax with Aurora Veil + Lapras Seaking.

VS PZ + Fairy Follow me
Leads: Tentacruel + Dracovish
In the first turn I use bulldoze to activate the weakness policy and lower the
speed of both opposing Pokemon. At +2, Tentacruel can OHKO most fairy type
Pokemon, including eviolite Clefairy

Vs Terracot
Leads: Tentacruel + Dracovish
It works like de previous mashup

VS Indeedee-F + hatterene
Leads: Lapras + Urshifu
G-Max Resonance and wicked blow can give OHKO to indeedee, even if it
wears sash, also I can stall Trick room with Aurora veil.

Vs TED
Leads: Lapras Urshifu
If the rival starts with Togekiss, I use Scary Face + G-Max Resonance to
OHKO it. Meanwhile Urshifu does not faint from sand + Dazzling Gleam. If he
Dinamaxes Togekiss as I explained, he only has one turn to deal damage before
fainting. I usually use dracovish + tentacruel on my back in case he has
Togekiss on the back.
