Course Overview:
With an increase in knowledge work in today’s industry, it has become increasingly
important to manage what has become an organizations most important asset, human
resources. This course examines the role of the human resource professional as a strategic
partner in managing organizations. Significant functions such as recruitment, selection,
development, performance appraisal, retention, compensation, and labor relations are
examined. The course also highlights the dynamics of HRM along with employee relations
and safety.

Learning Outcomes:
 Understand the concept of human resource management.
 Identify and appreciate the importance of Human Resource Management Practices
through the entire lifecycle of an employee

Pedagogy:
Lectures, case studies, in class exercises, and role plays would be used in this course.
