Nintendo®

Today, we know Nintendo as electronics and video game company especially in

producing game consoles and our all-time favorite, Super Mario Brothers. But that’s not how
they originally were. There are two ways on how to interpret Nintendo. Was founded in 1889,
originally was a producer of playing cards and because of that, others transcribe it as “The
Temple of Free Hanafuda”, which Hanafuda means as Japanese playing cards. On the other
interpretation, the three Japanese characters, “Nin”, “Ten”, and “Do” means “Leave luck to
heaven”. Nintendo has made its way to the top from the bottom with many alterations and
even bankruptcy, nonetheless, today we now appreciate their products from the games they
make to the consoles like the DS, and today’s recent, the Nintendo Switch.

Just like any protagonist in any movie, books, etc. Commonly, their stories aren’t well
from the start but eventually, will make it to the top through challenges. Things are not any
different with Nintendo, it has encountered many small businesses from the beginning like food
production, small fast food chains, etc. Eventually, they didn’t produce games and consoles
right at the beginning, they were producing playing cards in Japan known has “Hanafuda”, few
years or even a decade later, then they entered the gaming industry, but not quite well, as they
experienced bankruptcy. Nonetheless, they are a great example on how to be passionate and
never to quit on what you are doing especially when there are inevitable times of hardships.

Felder, R.M. (1995) In his article, he said that anything new that you are going to do
always involve a learning challenge. This pertains to the changing fields of Nintendo on how it
affected them with introducing new products is like starting from ground up. Felder added that
these are common and natural to our environment. Thus, in order to avoid or to minimize the
effects, it is essential to know the process, and to take few precautionary steps to avoid much
bumps on the road.

Personally, in order to achieve something, you need to work your best out of it despite
any challenges that will face you. If you put an effort and be passionate about it, good things will
surely come and never to forget the essence of teamwork and to consider working the best out
of the aid of everyone and always remember to pray to God for all the decisions and the road
you will take in the journey.
