The Center for Business and Commercial Law (“CBCL”) , Visakhapatnam conducted
following events in the Academic year 2019-20 and in the Academic year 2020-21

 Guest Lecture on GST- THEORY, PRACTICE, AND CAREER PROSPECTS”

The guest lecture was divided into three sessions. In the first session, after
establishing the constitutional foundation for taxation and federal aspects of taxation,
Mr.Jain explained the changes brought in by the101st Constitutional Amendment to
bring in GST. The second session was on ‘Litigation on GST’, wherein, he explained
the practical and procedural aspects of GST litigation such as recovery related
disputes, advance ruling, offences, constitutional issues, rate changes etc. In the last
session, he dealt with Higher Education and Career in Tax Laws.

 Panel Discussion on “The Recent Trends in the Competition law on 15 th

February ,2020
This discussion dealt with the Importance of Economics and Economic Knowledge on
Competition Law, Impact of personal data as a currency of today on Competition Law and
how exactly Competition Law affects the society as a whole. Panelists for the discussion
were Mr. Mukul Sharma from Competition Commission of India, Animesh Sinha from
Animesh Sinha & Partners, New Delhi , Avinash Sharma who is an Advocate on Record,
Supreme Court of India and Dr. Dayananda Murthy C P - Associate Professor of Law ,
DSNLU, Visakhapatnam

 One Day Capacity Building Programme on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code,

Technical session 2 - It dealt with Resolution Professional, Insolvency Professional
Agencies and Information Utilities – Challenges in Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process
