PANDEMIC LESSONS

The world is currently suffering from a pandemic affecting the lives, property, and health of the people.
COVID 19, with its outbreak is a threat to millions of lives of the people around the globe. With new cases of
people infected every day, people are in the state of panic not knowing whether they will be safe or not.

The moment I heard about the news on COVID-19 and that the government is implementing a
nationwide lockdown, I was terrified. I started worrying about the safety of my family and how would we
manage to get through this crisis. This pandemic made me realize how important laws are. That the government
is trying their best to control the spread of the virus and we need to abide by the laws for our own safety. I
learned that we should always save money because everyone is struggling to live not knowing where to get food
to eat. I also learned that we need to be productive everyday and take this opportunity to do the things we can’t
usually do during the normal days. We get to bond with the family and have fun together even home
quarantined. Due to lockdown classes are being suspended and we have to resort in having online classes at
home instead. This so far is my biggest struggle during the lockdown. With a very low connection to the internet,
I need to wait for the night to come where the internet is somehow stable and that is the only time I could make
my requirements. I certainly disapprove in having online classes for not all can afford to have it. I believe that
the safety and health of my family comes first. With this I’m always hoping and praying that everyone would be
safe and that this crisis will soon end.

With the rapid growth of cases in the Philippines, the government released a resolution to manage the
COVID-19 situation. It includes classes are suspended in all levels, no more mass gatherings, and everyone is
subjected to enhanced community quarantine. This ECQ has affected the livelihood of thousands of Filipinos
leaving them the hope that the government will help them. Filipinos are known as being resourceful. Amidst the
crisis where they lost their job, they are trying their best to provide their families the basic necessities needed
for surviving. Even though it’s hard for them they have to bear with it and try to survive for the sake of their
families. Community quarantine and social distancing has not hindered the Filipinos from helping each other.
Different groups, organizations, and individuals help on giving an ample of donation to everyone in need of
medical and food supplies. This shows that we need each other to survive.

With the infections happening worldwide, the government is struggling on how to manage the spread of
the virus and how to provide their people with basic necessities. Due to lockdown, several establishments were
shut down. This resulted to the disruption of the economy worldwide. This causes scarcity of medical and food
supplies, affecting the lives of people. This pandemic wants the world to realize that things are temporary but
love. The care and support we give to people battling this crisis and saving lives of those who are infected is a
great contribution to put an end to this nightmare.

This worldwide crisis will serve as a lesson for us all that in life there are things that we can’t control.
This wants us to realize that life is short, jobs are temporary, be wise in spending money, health comes first, and
we need God to survive. No one wants this pandemic to happen. Everyone is struggling on how they can survive
this event. All we need to do is to look at the brighter side that everything is going to be okay. Let us all be filled
with positivity, peace of mind and happiness. Hoping everything will be okay and put God in every action that
we do.
