ONLINE LEARNING VS TRADITIONAL LEARNING

Learning is a transformational process of taking in what we learnt mix it with what we

experience. The process of learning always bring change to human’s knowledge, behaviour
bases on experience. Some people learn better when they are in their own place and many
needs a structured program with certain instructions and restrictions.

Traditional learning is a way that have a pre defined process in which in-person discussion,
demonstration etc takes place. Physical movement, disciplines and principles are more
provided in traditional way of learning.

On the other hand, online learning simply means learning through internet with the help of
advancement of technology. The positive aspect in online learning includes flexibility of
learning and ease of learning. But flexibility doesnot benefit all, which means people who
are self- motivated and disciplined will take the online classes or exams seriously while
others just log-in and get diverted to other online works. The time period of each class
between 30mins to 60mins with a break of 10mins is the traditional way of stimulating the
minds of people to work periodically and managing the rime effectively during daytime. But
incase of online learning, people can log in but not attentive to classes.

Speaking from another perspective, people who are learning through online are more
exposed to the online culture that is, they are more relative to online surfing and are more
resourceful. But actually, based on today’s development everyone is more relative to
internet and its culture.

Traditional way of learning provides peer interactions more lively which indulge discipline
and virtual thinking. Even though online learning is more convenient it lacks people physical
movement and involves mental illness.

Many research have done by the researchers about this topic and they provided certain
conclusions like, online learning directs to many mental illness, online learners may not sail
a successful life because there is nobody to push them or put under rules, people get easily
diverted, lack in casual interaction when they meet and traditional learners are more
committed to work and life.

Though online learning costs 50% less when compared to traditional learning (from research
article), it provides more frustration when you donot understand any of the concepts which
indicates that not all materials are suffice to master in studies, something beyond the
materialistic learning is from peers and teachers or professors and especially from our
experience.
Technology is expanding and people’s desire to learn on their own is also expanding. But the
transition from traditional to online learning will not be a proper dilemma. Ofcourse there
are certain aspects like social interaction, instructional materials, costs, Level of
personalisation, time, learner’s progress and requirement that have their unique beneficiary
points. Learning style is different from every individual some may be more focused and self-
disciplined and some may excel in techs. Only with the fact of these, the bifurcated thoughts
cannot be judged with single conclusion.

There are certain regulations and disciplines are designed to bring people in-line with
mankind that can be achieved only by traditional way of learning. With the essence of
technology people’s mind can be enriched but not regulated.
