1. Inform and coordinate with the barangay health workers/barangay officials about
Ernesto’s case. In this regard, advise Ernesto to stay in the isolation unit of the
barangay for monitoring. However if Ernesto refuses, he can be advised to
self-quarantine instead. He should have a separate room in his house and refrain from
interacting and having close contact with his family members.
2. His wife, Matilda, as the designated caregiver will be the only one who should
come close with Ernesto. In this case, his children will have to stay in a different
room.
3. Since Ernesto will be put in isolation, his wife/relatives should help in looking out
for trusted people who can temporarily manage his farm and animals.
4. The barangay health workers will conduct contact tracing and cotinue to monitor
Ernesto's status as well as those people who he had close encounter with .While in
isolation, Ernesto is advised/should observe preventive measures such as wearing
mask and frequent handwashing. The same should be done by Matilda especially
when taking care having close contact with his husband, Ernesto. She should also
wear gloves and if possible a disposable gown/working clothes. Ensure proper
disposable of these items. Proper preventive measures should also be employed by
people he got close contact with.
5. Allow Ernesto to rest and it is advised that Ernesto should eat healthy balanced
meals and to drink vitamins to boost his immune system.
7.Nasal/throat swab test should be conducted. If the test show positive result and
Ernesto/PUI’s are showing symptoms, they will be transferred and taken to
COVID-19 treatment facility at Negros Oriental Provincial hospital such that
appropriate treatment and care will be administered.
