BUSBAR PROTECTION REB500 TESTING


PROCEDURE

BBP

• Busbar isolator and CB closed


• R, Y, B → 1.0A, 40ms
• BO check
• BBP Block by Diff Current alarm (BFP and EFP remain activ)

• BBP Blocked by Isolator Image Alarm.

BFP

• CB Closed.
• CB Open →BFP Blocked.
• BFP start input + 0.2A → BFP Trip.70ms (T1) 120 ms (T2)
• BO check T1 (Trip to Local CB)
• BO check T2 (Remote Trip, Zone Trip)

EFP

• Busbar isolator Open and CB open.


• CB Closed → EFP Blocked.
• Busbar isolator Closed and CB open → BBP Trip, EFP Trip.
• R, Y, B → 1.2A, 40ms
• BO check (Remote Trip / 400ms Latching time)

Trip Transfer

• BFP trip + CB Trip Block from BCU activ → No Local CB trip → trip all feeders
connected to faulty bus (including one BC and one BS) with <T1 (50ms)

PROCEDURE

Logic

• Maintenance

o BB isolator forced to open


o BBP, BFP, EFP are blocked

• Test plug
o BB isolator forced to open
o BBP is blocked
o BFP activ with BFP start (Local / T1 and Remote feeder / T2 only)
o EFP activ with CB open

Logic with another feeders


• BBP trip all feeders connected to faulty bus
• BFP trip Local CB with T1(70ms)
• BFP trip all feeders connected to faulty bus (including one BC and one BS), Remote Trip
with T2(120ms)

Bus Coupler/ Bus Section Logic


Zone will be formed with the help of Isolator + Breaker closed status

• Maintenance –F500

o BB isolator forced to open


o BBP, BFP are blocked

• Maintenance –F503

o BB isolator forced to open


o BBP, BFP are blocked

• Test plug –F500


o BB isolator forced to open
o BBP is blocked
o BFP activ with BFP start (Local CB only with T1)

• Test plug –F503


o BB isolator forced to open
o BBP is blocked
o BFP activ with BFP start (Local CB only with T1)

• EFP Is Disabled in BS/ BC.

PROCEDURE

Bus Coupler/ Bus Section Logic with another feeder

• BBP trip all feeders connected to faulty bus


• BFP trip Local CB with T1
• BFP trip all feeders connected to faulty bus (including one BS) with T2

BBP initiation
BFP operation
Surrounding CB 250ms

Transformer Feeder Logic

Ext. Start BFP From Trafo mech. Protection.

• BFP trip all feeders connected to faulty bus (including one BC and one BS) with T2 only
with BFP Start input connectd via CB Closed Aux contact, no need of current.
• This will clear the zone.
