Ten Core Rules of Netiquette

RULE #1 Remember the Human

- Never forget that the person reading your post have feelings that can be hurt, so don’t say
anything over the internet, its better to say it in person, so it would be less hurt someone
feelings.

RULE #2 Adhere to the same Standards of Behavior Online that you Follow in real Life.

- When you are online keep it in your mind that there are things that are not allowed. You need
to be carefull on what you say online. Don’t do anything that will harm anyone.

RULE #3 Know Where You Are In Cyberspace.

- Remember when you are using internet don’t make things that can harm other people, for
example cyber bulliying, don’t bully someone mostly to the internet because, it will spread online
and it can hurt other people.

RULE #4 Respect Other Peoples time and Bandwidth.

- I know that everyone may not have bandwidth speed than other have, the important is you
understand them even they have not bandwidth like what you have. Remember even there are
many people have not the same ideas and opinions as you. You must considerate.

RULE #5 Make Yourself Look Good Online.

- Most of people now are judgmental, people that are communicating online being judge like
their skin, eyes, hair, or clothing, because of this things your being shy, so your making your self
good so that you will never be judge by someone online. So that people nowadays making their
self good online.
RULE #6 Share Expert Knowledge.

- Knowledgeable people have intelligent answers that many people can benefit. If you’re an
expert you can be helpful to other people because people like you is important, your intelligent
answers can be source of information to the people searching for an answers. Sharing your
knowledge is a good thing, because the end of the day you can be a good example to everyone.

RULE #7 Help Keep Flame Wars Under Control.

- Can we control flame? Flaming is what people do when they are in bad emotion. There saying
hurtful words online. There posting bad messages to other, because of not holding back their
emotions they destroy other peoples life. So help your self under control so you can never hurt
other people.

RULE #8 Respect Other Peoples Privacy.

- All of us need privacy, sp we will respect other peoples privacy, for example, reading other
peoples text messages, passwords or diary and more related to this without permission. And
avoid sharing other peoples issues online without permission. Respect other peoples privacy
the way you would want to have your respect.

RULE #9 Don’t Abuse Your Power.

- You should never abuse your power, because it can cause others losing respect. Using an
abused power can hurt many people even they idolized you but it can be change. Sights of
people can be change because of what you are doing, so if you have an power don’t use it in a
harmful way.

RULE #10 Be Forgiving Of Other Peoples Mistakes.

- People make mistakes like typing a wrong speeling or answering a question unnecessary long
answer, be kind about it don’t makle them not to be proud of their self, having a good manners
can make them comfortable so that you can correct peoples mistake. If you want to inform their
mistake, speak it politely so people will listen to you carefully. If they make mistakes, forgive
them, there is no perfect person.
