MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT : PENNSYLVANIA
COURT 09-3-04 AND LIMITED;
CASE REASSIGNMENT + NO: CP-21-MD-0000, 554-2020
ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER
AND Now, this /5~ Oy of September, 2020, staffing issues at Magisterial
District Court 09-3-04 having arisen that require limited case type reassignment to
maintain continuous court operations the following temporary action is taken,
effective September 21, 2020, for all new case criminal case filings, and for all
preliminary hearings effective October 1, 2020:
1. All criminal court case actions arising out of Silver Spring Township
shall be filed and heard at Magisterial District Court 09-3-02
(Cohick);
2. All criminal court case actions arising out of Hampden Township
shal] be filed and heard at Magisterial District Court 09-2-01(Fegley).
The District Attorney and Public Defender Offices are directed to staff this
temporary reassignment with the resources necessary to accommodate the
increased caseloads at the impacted Magisterial District Courts, including but not
limited to, Hampden cases being heard Wednesday mornings and Silver Spring
cases being heard Wednesday afternoons unless other suitable times are arranged
through the Court Administrator.
Page 10f2‘The processing of civil actions, to include Landlord Tenant, all summary
cases, and local search warrants shall remain at Magisterial District Court 09-3-04
at this time. This Order will not impact the previously established on-call schedule
for the Magisterial District Judges.
This Order will automatically expire on April 4, 2021, unless extended or
reduced by subsequent court order as the staffing issues dictate.
