Youth Scholarship
The ORT youth scholarships for 2011 were decided at the
end of December. The scholarships are for students to further
studies in the performing arts.

Senior scholarship was awarded to Ayesha Curnow with other

applicants being highly recommended for their efforts.
The junior scholarship was more difficult and two applicants
could not be separated so with scholarships donated by ORT
and Maura Flower, the successful applicants were
Alice Lewis and Molly Curnow.
Congratulations to the successful applicants.

Auditions for Annie

The major production for 2011 will be “Annie” and will be
on stage from July 29th to August 21st.
Auditions will be held for Annie at the theatre on Saturday
March 26th.
For further information on times, please contact the director
Peter Flower on 431 6640.

50th Anniversary
ORT will be celebrating 50 years of theatre in October 2011.
This is an important milestone in the performing arts in the
region and many people over the years have contributed to
the ongoing success of the theatre.
We would like to ensure that everyone who has been involved
in any way over the years has an opportunity to participate.
If you know of anyone who would like to be involved but
may have moved out of the area, please advise them that we
would love to hear from them.
Contact the theatre for more information.

Singing Successes
Some of our younger members participated in the recent
Kaipara Art and Music Festival at Matakohe and we
congratulate all those that took part and in particular
Mya Lawrence, Emma Rankin and Amy Lawrence who
gained top spots in their competition. Well done ladies!

$7,000.00 Raised
On behalf of Ronald McDonald House Auckland we would like to thank the Sponsors and the participants for a very successful
fundraiser. An ambros golf tournament was held on Saturday 13 November 2010 at the Paparoa Golf Club and was attracted 96
players from our wider
community. The players enjoyed the 9 holes in fine sunny weather and really got into the spirit of supporting the cause. The dday
ay
drew to a close with raffles, a light meal and prize giving accompanied with a few refreshments.

We would sincerely like to thank the Paparoa Golf Club, Maungaturoto Rotary Club and Paparoa Lions for there members that
volunteered there time to help make the day a success.

On Wednesday 19 January we were pleased that Hannah Fergus was able to present a cheque to Wayne Howett CEO of Ronald
McDonald house for $7,000.00. In closing this was a win win situation for the players who had a great fun filled day and Ronald
McDonald House Auckland who now have an extra $7,000.00 to go towards providing accommodation for other Northland fami-
lies.

If you would like to know more about Ronald McDonald House visit www.rmhauckland.org.nz or contact us at 09 431 8999.

Regards
Craig and Claire Fergus
