Declaration of Nabuwat

After receiving first Wahy, Holy Prophet (SAW) received the order from Allah that he should
preach his mission first three years in front of his closest friends and relatives. This order was
given in Surah Al-Shu’ara verse 214 “And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest relatives”. Here
warn means to preach Islam to your closest relatives. First personality who accepted Islam was
Hazarat Khadija (RA) because she recognized him as prophet when he was only 12-year-old.
The second person who accepted Islam was Hazarat Abu Bakr (RA). He was very close with
Holy Prophet (SAW) and spent his whole life with him. Hazarat Ali (RA) was first one to accept
Islam among children. From slaves, Hazarat Zaid bin Haris (RA) accepted Islam. Due to their
efforts, forty persons accepted Islam in first three years. Later order was given in Surah Nahl to
preach everyone. So Holy Prophet (SAW) started his mission among the misguided citizens of
Makkah. Holy Prophet (SAW) stood at the mountain of Safa and called all Makkan people. Holy
Prophet (SAW) said that if he says that one army is on the other side of the mountain and coming
to attack them and they are coming to attack them so will they believe him. They said that yes,
they will believe him as he is “Sadiq” and “Amin” and he will never lie. Holy Prophet (SAW)
asked them to listen carefully that the Nabuwat is handed over to him and Allah is one, he is
creator, he is giver of life and death, and Holy Prophet (SAW) is the last prophet of Allah. Please
don’t worship idols because Allah is the only creator and recite Kalma to enter Islam. Makkan
people laughed at him. They began to give torture to him and his followers. Among them were
Abu Lahb, who was the uncle of Holy Prophet (SAW), who with his wife tortured Holy Prophet
(SAW) throughout their life, and they were suffered by Allah. Makkan people started to torture
converted slaves and strangers, who were weak and poor who had no protector. These people
were seized and exposed to the scorching gravel of the valley to the intense of the midday sun.
Among them were Hazarat Bilal, Hazarat Somaiya, etc. But none of Holy Prophet’s (SAW) left
Islam due to this extreme torture.

When the age of Holy Prophet (SAW) was 45 years and the 5th year of Nabuwat, due to the
extreme torture, Holy Prophet (SAW) advised his companions to migrate Abyssinia where the
governor, Najashi, who was a justice person and his name was Najashi. Dozens of Muslims
migrated to Abyssinia with the advice of Holy Prophet (SAW).

After the migration to Abyssinia, the leaders of non-Muslims decided on a complete boycott to
the tribe of Holy Prophet (SAW). At the time of his age 47. Nobody talked to them or had
commercial or matrimonial reforms with them. This resulted to face a huge difficulty to Holy
Prophet (SAW) and his tribes. This boycott was continued for full three years.
