Your Excellencies,

I am a Sri Lankan-born Buddhist activist living in Canada and want to express my very serious concern for
the future of your resplendent land enriched with thousands of years of Buddhism, Buddhist culture and
traditions.

I sensed the infiltration of Western and Christian intrusions to the Royal Kingdom of Bhutan, when I read
about your wonderful King’s relaxing of his Royal monarchy’s governing of Bhutan and liberalising its
policies in National Geographic about three years ago.

I have been informed of the below news item (see at the end of my letter) from Catholic News about The
Vatican’s plans on converting innocent Buddhist and Hindu people of Bhutan, as a part of their Crusade
War against Buddhism and Hinduism.

Catholic and Christian missionaries have destroyed the cultural and religious traditions of many Asian
countries by using the terms called “Human Rights”, “Freedom to Practise any Religion”, “Freedom of
Expression”, “Freedom of the Press” etc, to craftily convert people of indigenous religions, cultures and
traditions. Their methods involve brainwashing Buddhists and Hindus with promises of lucrative
employment, economic gains, and with promise of curing illnesses through bogus “Healing powers of a
Christian God”.

These dangerous Christian missionaries will lure the young, innocent and unsuspecting children of Bhutan
into believing in Santa Clause and offer Gifts if they came to Church, believed in “God” and carry a Cross
and Bible with them. These Christian brainwashers will give chocolates and other Western sweets/candy
and toys donated by Christians in Europe, America and Canada to your innocent children saying those a
gift from “God” and convert them without any logical reasoning or understanding of what they are getting
in to.
As educated policymakers, Your Excellencies are aware that Christianity is an Organized Religion, much
like Organized Crime, though it is inconceivable to discern between the two. The Church, AKA the
Vatican, has vast amounts of accrued wealth, most of it having been looted from the Asian and South/North
American natives during invaded colonizing during last several centuries.

Crusades and Christian Wars have claimed thousands of innocent lives, where non-believers and those who
refused to accept fictional creation-based monotheistic omnipotent super being were burnt alive and the
others were tortured and killed in the most ghastly ways not even witnessed in nightmares.

Donor and Christian Charity funds are being sent through Christian Missionaries and Catholic Action
Mercenaries to convert unsuspecting innocent Buddhists of lesser-industrialized nations.

Your Excellencies, your focus and expectations for your citizens are “HAPPINESS of the people”.
Bhutanese people have a non-materialist sentiment to be happy – within the teachings of the Buddha and
within the Bhutanese culture and tradition of sharing, being happy with what they have, appreciating what
they have and always smiling – Living a true Buddhist life.

Your Excellencies do not need any Christian Missionaries to come over and destroy that Happiness and
eventually, your government’s own policy to make your people happy would only be an elusive task to
achieve. Bhutanese community will split into Buddhist, Hindu and Christian sections (with the Churches
that will be raised) and then people will have dissention and tensions amongst themselves. This will create
disharmony and eventually wars to divide the beautiful Bhutan and finally secede.

Your SAARC neighbour Sri Lanka fought 37 years with Christian-Church-supported Tamil Tigers, but
finally won the war against those terrorists thanks to its new President, the Defence Secretary and Armed
Forces who did not follow Christian-Western nation’s advise to give into terrorists and divide the country.
You have seen what happened in the media and also can witness how much the Christian-based West is
angry with Sri Lanka for defeating Christian-based terrorism.

These Christian Missionaries will invade Bhutan slowly and steadily to capture the people of Bhutan in
several areas:

1. Education – to change school textbooks and include Christian religion to be taught in schools. They
will distribute Bibles and other Christian Literature among children and adults “Free” to convert them to
Christianity or evangelize them. They will eventually ask you to reduce teaching History and Buddhism in
schools to facilitate young minds to blindly fall in prey to their crusades.

2. Information and Communication - With more people getting access and exposure to internet and
Western-based Television content, large portion of the Bhutanese are already dropping traditional cultural
values and converting to change the visible appearance of Thimpu and several other parts of Bhutan.
Western Journalists and Western News Media Syndicates (BBC, Times, Guardian, CNN, Channel-4, etc)
will consistently portray a negative aspect of Bhutan’s Buddhist theme, its traditional values, denigrate its
traditions, people, society, legal system, accuse politicians of fictional activities and promote/create panic
among people to be naive and promote opposition for government changes to facilitate more liberalized
Christian-based society.
3. Works and Human Settlement – Christian Missionaries will find ways to secure land and make
“Christian villages” and destroy the Buddhist and Hindu based culture and traditions of Bhutan. They will
buy lands/properties from unsuspecting Bhutanese people and use them to have unethical
conversions/proselyte activities.

4. Foreign Policy – The Vatican will steadily enforce Christian themes and Church-biased regulations
that the Western World is imposing on all other Asian and SAARC countries, in disguise of trade policies
and sanctions.

5. Christian Missionaries will eventually shape up Bhutan’s Economic policy to polarize the community
of accepted elite (those who converted) and traditional good Bhutanese Buddhists and Hindu’s.

6. Agriculture – One of the shred tactics of Christian Missionaries is to quickly grab and blend-in to the
traditional industries of the country they are converting and destroying. This ensures they reach the
grassroots levels of Bhutanese society and they will slowly capture a monopoly of crop distribution, seed
sales, fertilizer, and introduce non-sustainable destructive farming techniques that destroys the ecological
balance, pollutes the environment, intoxicates the drinking water, erodes topsoil, washes the nutrient-rich
soil into rivers and streams that are practiced in the Western world.

Then they will bring Genetically Modified crop, whose seeds are impotent and will not grow new crop
(Monsanto and DuPont). The subsistent, eco-friendly, ecologically-balanced, pollution-free agri-based
social fabric of Bhutan will quickly disappear and your resplendent land will inherit ALL the problems
faced by the other countries that chase wealth and breed greed and consume more than humans need. (This
is what happened to South American and many Asian countries, as well as Canada, USA and some parts of
Europe).

7. Home and Cultural Affairs – Christian Crusaders and Catholic Action will aggressively push for
“equal” prominence to Christianity, as currently given to Buddhism in Bhutan. This will bring a Cultural
Disaster in Bhutan.

Your Excellencies, I am very certain that you are already aware of the ulterior motifs of Christian Church
trying to establish in Bhutan.

I also hope that you will take a tough stand to protect the Buddhism in your magnificent country, along
with its long history, traditions and rich cultural values.
If your Excellencies fail to protect what you have in unique Bhutan, another Buddhist nation, a revered land
of the Buddha’s teachings will forever disappear among the mountains and valleys into thin air..

Thank you, Your Excellencies.

Buddha’s Blissfully and Yours Truly,

Warna Hettiarachchi

Toronto, Canada

Catholic missionaries ready to work in Bhutan, Vatican

agency reports
By Sara Angle, Catholic News Service

VATICAN CITY (CNS) – Catholic missionaries are ready to set up faith communities in
Bhutan after the country announced it would accept the registration of Christians for the
first time, a Vatican news agency reported.

The Fides missionary news agency said Jan. 27 that two Catholic religious orders in India
were prepared to go to Bhutan as soon as the government permits registration. The
population of the small South Asian country, which has a tiny Christian minority, is
predominantly Buddhist and Hindu.

“We are ready to open communities of men and women in Bhutan. We do not know the
territory well, but if the authorities permit it, and we have the necessary conditions, we
will willingly start our activities,” Father Arul Raj, a missionary from the Oblates of
Mary Immaculate, told Fides.

Details of how the registration process would take place for Christians were discussed in
December at a meeting of the group that regulates religious organizations. In the past, the
country has banned open practice of non-Buddhist and non-Hindu religions, but officials
said that would change under the new policy.

There are an estimated 6,000 Christians in Bhutan, and about 1,000 of them are Catholic,
according to Vatican statistics.

Father Raj has founded two religious orders in India, the Society of the Daughters of
Mary Immaculate and the Society of the Missionaries of Mary Immaculate, and he said
he was confident the two communities could do successful work in Bhutan.

The two orders work in northern India, which borders Bhutan. They have created self-
help groups for poor and indigenous women in the most remote areas, and work with
young people through college education programs. They clearly manifest their Christian
identity through their work and prayer, rather than performing open conversions, Father
Raj said.

He said their approach to missionary work is based on witness and dialogue, and that
“many among the women and youth who partake in our programs spontaneously ask to
embrace the Christian faith.”

He said this style of evangelization would be well-suited for Bhutan.
