Let’s talk about it!

Teacher: (FA#1)
Christians now a days are challenged to develop and deepen not only our personal relationship with Jesus but most of all our faith since
we are facing a very different kinds of obstacle in our lives by knowing Him intimately through a profound study of the New Testament. The
New Testament presents the life and works of Jesus and the way He was received by the people who had been waiting for Him for so long.
Now, when we say “New Testament” what comes into your mind? Write your answer inside the box.

Teacher: Great!

The New Testament narrated and proclaimed Jesus Christ’s birth, teaching, Passion, Death and Resurrection. It also covers
God’s definitive covenant with all people mediated by His Incarnate Son, Jesus Christ. God’s commitment to all His people, which
Jesus sealed with His own blood sacrifice on the Cross, is the focus of the second part of the Bible.

CHECK POINT!

Now, do you think studying the Gospel is still important in our lives today? Why or why not?
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Teacher: Great! Reading the New Testament is the primary way to know Jesus. The four Gospels are the product of three distinct stages of
formation: the historical life of Jesus in Palestine, the Oral Tradition and finally the written Gospels.

Teacher: To sum it up, there is only one Jesus but there are four inspired Gospels. Each Gospel presents a different perspective on Jesus.
The Challenge of the Gospels to us Christians is to allow them to transform us.

Remember! The fruitful reading of Scripture is a gift from God. It is unfortunate that many of us especially the millennials do not take
advantage of this gift.

CHECK POINT! (SA#2)

Match the evangelists in column A to Gospels portrait of Jesus in Column B.
Column A Column B
1. Matthew A. Jesus is the son of God
2. Mark B. Jesus is the Savior of the World
3. Luke C. Jesus is the Messiah and King
4. John D. Jesus is the Suffering Messiah
