A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in the Teacher and Community, School, Culture and

Organizational Leadership (TACSOL)

I. Objectives
At the end of the 30-minute lesson, 80% of the students must be able to:
A. The students can define the meaning of the Social Instution
B. The students can distinguish the different types of Social Institution
C. The students will know the importance of Social Institutions and its functions

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Social Institutions and Types of Social Institutions

IV. Procedure
A. Classroom Routine
1. Greetings
The teacher will greet “Good afternoon, Students! Mabuhay!”
2. Prayer
The teacher will ask one student to lead the prayer.
3. Checking the cleanliness and alignment of chairs
The teacher will request the students to align the chairs and pick up the trash.
4. Checking of attendance
The leader of the day will report the attendance.

B. Motivation
The teacher will present the blank pyramid of social institution and the teacher will ask
the students their perspective on what should be the arrangement of the Social Institution inside
the pyramid and explain why they arranged the social institutions lile that.
C. Lesson Proper
1. The teacher will ask the students about the last topic that they have tackled
last meeting.
2. The teacher will use the answer of the students to connect to the next topic
that they will discuss.
3. The Teacher will define the meaning of Social Institutions
Social Instituions
-Intergrated set of social norms organized around the
preservation of a basic societal values
Social Instituitions according to different Sociologist:
-It is a vital interest or activity that is sprrounded by a
cluster of mores and folkways (Summer and Keller)
-It is the means of control uilizatiom of the social energy
(Lester F. Ward)
-Institution as the whole or anybpart of the established
and reorganized apparatus of social life (L.T Hobhouse )
-Institutions established forms of conditions of procedure
characteristics of a group activity ( Robert Maciver)
-Social Instiutions ascribed the basis of every institutions
to what be called perpetual want.

4. The teacher will distinguish the different types of Social Institutions


-Sociologist often reserves the term "institutions" is describe
normative system that operates in the basic areas of life , which maybe
designated as the primary institutions.

Types of Social Institutions:


4.1 Family
-In determining kinship
4.2 State
In providing for the legislative use of power
4.3 Economics
In regulating distribution of goods and services
4.4 Education
In transmitting knowledge from one generation to the next; and 
4.5 Religion
In regulating our relation to the supernatural. 
-Their universality indicates thattheu are deeply rooted in human nature
and that they are essential in the development and maintainance of order.

5. The Teacher will ask the students if they have questions regarding the topic
that they have discussed.
B. Evaluation
Instruction: In a 1/2 crosswise sheet of paper of the students the teacher will
ask the students to list down the 5 types of Social Institutions and the students will
provide explanation of why these social intitutions are necessary n a society

V. Assignment
The teacher will require the students to read about the Family and bring their
family picture for the next meeting's activity.
