The Universal Student Scholarship

The Universal Student Scholarship is being offered to all Loyola Undergraduate students for the 2010-2011 school year by
Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated Delta Nu Chapter at Loyola University Chicago.

This scholarship is for a student who is succeeding academically as well as serving the community, and who has taken the
initiative in leading their community, organization, classmates or co-workers. It is open to all undergraduates of any race, gender,
age, sexual orientation, religion or cultural beliefs.

The mission of Lambda Theta Alpha includes promoting cultural diversity, empowering the student body, political activism and
community service as well as academic prowess. We are looking for a well rounded student whom exemplifies these qualities.

The requirements for all applicants include a minimum of a 2.5 GPA and enrollment at Loyola University Chicago. The
application is to be turned in along with an essay, 2 letters of recommendation from a professor, or other professional, (sealed
and signed on seal) and an official transcript. The essay should answer the following questions and should not exceed 3 pages:

1) Why do you believe you deserve this scholarship according to the mission of LTA and the guidelines of what we are looking
for listed above?
2) How have you demonstrated leadership in your community, work place, school or any extracurricular activities?
3) How have you helped serve your community within the past 3 years?

The application packet should be turned in to the Student Activities and Greek Affairs office -LTA mailbox in CFSU LL mailbox
#90. They may also be mailed in to 1125 W. Loyola Ave mailbox #90 Chicago, IL 60626. It must all be in a Legal Size envelope
and turned in by March 4, 2011 at 5:00pm. Any late or incomplete packets will not be considered.

The scholarship award will be awarded in the form of an eFollett gift card to go towards book and supply costs in the amount of
$500.00. (Any special requests of award distribution may be communicated by contacting us)

The scholarship winner will be presented with their award at the Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. Delta Nu Chapter's
Founder's Week Banquet dinner on Saturday April 2, 2011.
