COURSE/SUBJECT: INTRODUCTION TO THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE HUMAN PERSON

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course covers an initiation to the activity and process of philosophical reflection as a search for a synoptic vision of life. Topics to
be discussed include the human experiences of embodiment, being in the world with others and the environment, freedom, intersubjectivity, sociality,
being unto death.

Assessment:
Written - 25%
Performance Task - 50%
Quarterly Test - 25%

FIRST QUARTER
CONTENT The learner demonstrates an understanding of:

PERFORMANCE Performance Task:


TASKS You are a member of the Association of Philosophy Students of the 21 st Century Filipinos. After winning the recently held “The
Thinkers’ National Competition”, you are chosen to be a contributor in an editorial page under MOONLIGHT Newspaper that has a
theme, “Unity beyond diversity”. The newspaper’s requirement is at least 2 page philosophical paper about a review of the former US
president, Barack Obama when he’s still a senator in Illinois (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFPwDe22CoY as reference). The
Philosophical paper will be critiqued according to organization of thoughts and ideas, presentation and analysis of the said work.

TASKS You are one of the members of the newly appointed Barangay Health Workers. Since the Philippines follow the prescribed protocol
of the DOH, your Barangay needs a sustainable project that will help minimize COVID-19’s active cases. In line with the country’s
Preamble, State Power, Bill of Rights and Health policies, your team’s focus is to answer the issue on Environmental Crisis. In order to put
everything into action, your team must create an action plan (project) that will help your barangay recover from the said issue. It must
possess Analysis, Organization, Content and Relevance to the recovery of the environment.
