Created in 1951, HRAP has grown into a full-pledged national organization representing
the interests and concerns of the Hotel & Restaurant industry in the whole country.
With the rise of new hotels before the year ends and blossoming of dining
establishments, HRAP continues to exercise its leadership as the single voice of the
Industry promoting goodwill, understanding, fellowship within the hospitality industry
both national and international.
- To undertake programs and projects that will upgrade and professionalize the industry.
- To promote unity and cooperation among those in the industry and other entities
engaged in tourism, in order to protect the interest and welfare of the industry.
- HRAP has graduated 118 professionals in its advanced management programs and
has likewise graduated 16 students in its 2 year vocational course.
- With its program and projects that upgrades and professionalize the industry, it has
and continues to promote unity and cooperation among those in the industry and other
entities engaged in tourism, in order to protect the interest and welfare of the industry.
- To encourage and foster high ethical standards in business resulting in fair and honest
competition.

HRAP was founded on September 12,1951 by executives from 10 of the leading hotels
and restaurants in Manila and nearby areas.
Its main goal was to upgrade the caliber of the local hospitality industry by improving
management, skills, personnel services, and overall standards while keeping abreast of
trends and developments abroad.
The Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP) is the umbrella
organization of hotels and restaurant that speaks for the Philippine hospitality industry.
- With the Tourism & Marketing committee (through HRAP’s linkage with the
Department of Tourism and the Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation
(PCVC)), members are able to support and participate in international sales blitzes to
promote not only their own properties abroad but also the country’s attractive
destinations.
To ensure the organization’s own level of excellence, it is affiliated with the ASEAN
Tourism Association and the ASEAN Hotel and Restaurant Associations, while having a
working relationship with the International Hotel and Restaurant Association.
