DVD Recorder Quick Guide

Congratulations on purchasing the DVD Recorder! DESCRIPTION


OPEN/CLOSE Push to open and close the disc tray.
Important:
Please read the “Important Safety Information” section of the User PLAY Push to play a disc.

Step One Checking the Contents FR Push to rewind a disc.

Carefully unpack the DVD Recorder and check that the following items
are included:

  Remote control
  Two AAA batteries
  Power cord
  Scart cable
  Component video cable
  Composite AV cable DESCRIPTION
  One DVD+RW blank disc UHF/VHF IN Connect the antenna from your service provider here.
  User manual UHF/VHF OUT Connect an antenna cable from this connector to your TV
Contact your dealer immediately if any items are missing, appear damaged, set.

Step Two Learning about the DVD Recorder S-VIDEO OUT Connect to an S-video compatible TV set.

Y/Pb/Pr Connect the supplied component video cable here and to
the component-out connectors of the connecting device.
FRONT L/R Audio-out for connecting to a TV set or stereo. Use the
REAR L/R red and white connectors of the supplied composite video
DESCRIPTION CENTER/LFE cable.
Push the power button to turn the DVD Recorder on or off.
COAXIAL Connect a digital audio coaxial cable here and to the

corresponding connector of your stereo equipment.
AV-IN Connect a camcorder (analog) to the AV-IN connectors.
OPTICAL Connect a digital audio optical cable here and to the

READ/WRITE Provides read/write status of DVD Recorder.

Step Three Learning Remote Control Functions
ON/OFF Turn the DVD Recorder on/off
SUBTITLE Toggle subtitles on/off during playback
ERASE Toggle between Title erase and Disc erase
OPEN/CLOSE Open/close the disc tray
EDIT Edit current title name, applicable only for DVD+RW discs or an unfinalized DVD+R disc
PROGRAM Memorize your favorite channel up to 168 channels
DISPLAY Display the title, chapter number and elapsed time during playback
MUTE Mute volume; press again to undo
REC Start recording current source
QUALITY Choose recording quality
SOURCE Choose recording source
HIDE Insert chapter/hide newly inserted chapter
RETURN Close on-screen menus
MENU Return to on-screen main menu
ENTER Confirm/enter settings/commands
PAGE UP/ DOWN Move up/down in on-screen menus
LEFT/ RIGHT Exit/change settings in on-screen menus
TITLE Display the title menu from DVD discs
TV/DVD Select TV or DVD player as the source
PLAY Start disc or incoming AV signal playback
PAUSE Pause incoming AV signal during playback/recording
STEP Display video signal frame-by-frame during playback
STOP Stop incoming AV signal during playback/recording
PREV Go to the previous available chapter of current Title during playback
NEXT Go to the next available chapter of current Title during playback
REW Rewind AV signal during playback
FF Fast forward AV signal during playback
1—0 Enter channel number to select
+10 Increase the number display by 10
CLEAR Clear text/number from selected entry field
CHANNEL Move up/down through available channels
VOLUME Increase/decrease volume
NTSC/PAL Choose NTSC or PAL signal
SETUP Access the DVD Recorder’s SETUP menu
AUDIO Select a different language or sound track during DVD playback if supported
ANGLE Display Camera Angle menu during DVD playback if supported
ZOOM Zoom in menu during DVD playback if supported
SHUFFLE Play random titles on discs
REPEAT 1/ALL Repeat title/chapter and elapsed time during playback
REPEAT A-B Play repeatedly between 2 chosen points in the disc; press again to cancel

Step Four Inserting the Remote Control Batteries Step Five Connecting to Your TV Set
Disconnect the aerial cable from your TV set. Connect it to

Connect the other end of the cable to the video/audio-in
connectors on the TV set.
Component video connection
Connect the component video cable to the Y/Pb/Pr

The default language for the OSD interface is English. This section
describes how to set the language to your preference. Press OPEN/CLOSE on the DVD Recorder.
