INTRODUCTION:

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the extension of Internet connectivity into physical devices and everyday
objects. IoT is now the most widely used technology in the present world and it is dominant all over the
world. It is an emerging topic of social, technical, educational, economical, agricultural, etc. IoT makes
our life simple by automating every small task around us.
In the 21st century, home is the safest place that can provide convenience and efficiency for people.
Safety is the first criteria while designing and contracting home, buildings, industries as well as cities. At
present, the gas supply through pipeline plays an increasingly important role in the modern economy.
Natural gas pipeline leak accidents have occurred due to a variety of unexpected natural or man-made
factors. The natural gas pipeline leak also creates a fire that is threatened by people. There are
approximately 30 million LPG users in Bangladesh in which mostly 40% of the population [1]. These
gases might be flammable at a certain temperature, toxic after exceeding the specified concentrations
limits or creates environmental pollution which is dangerous for human beings and species. Moreover,
fire accidents have become a threat to human life. Prevention of fire and fire risk level control difficulty is
increased day by day. Fires accidents are becoming more series because of the bigger building density
and unplanned higher urban buildings. At present time, cylinders and chemical explosions are more
responsible for fire accidents in Bangladesh. Exploding cooking gas cylinders and chemicals
accounted for nearly one-fourth of all deaths from accidental fires between 2004 and 2018, with a total of
20000 deaths[2]. New technologies are now focusing more on those accidents and working on how to
reduce these accidents.
Several systems have been implemented for detecting gas leakage. The existing system provides an alarm
to inform to gas leakage and fire occurrence in the house and commercial premises. The objective of the
proposed system is to continuously detect gas as soon as it reaches the minimum threshold it will
automatically send an alert to the calling user as well as Authorized LPG agent and will send data to the
web server so that they can act accordingly. This system is also designed to detect LPG gases such as
propane and butane.
 This paper proposes a very useful and cost effective smart project to overcome those problems.
 The less complex circuit has been used.
 The main aim of this project is to monitor for liquid petroleum gas (LPG) leakage to avoid major
fire accidents and also facilitating safety precautions where security has been an important issue.
The system is not only capable of detecting the leakage of LPG using gas sensors through audible
alarms and alerts the consumer about the gas leakage by sending Phone calls but also, with the
help of IoT, alerting the concerned authority about the condition before any misadventure take
place.
 The proposed system uses an alarm and the GSM Module to alert the person about the gas,
smoke, or fire leakage via and NodeMCU for sending sensor reading data to the web server so
that analytical results could be performed on the readings for increasing the legibility of the
system.
