Radar is a detection system that uses radio waves to determine the range,
angle, or velocity of objects. It can be used to detect aircraft, ships,
spacecraft, guided missiles, motor vehicles, weather formations, and
terrain.
The word RADAR is an acronym for RAdio Detection And Ranging, and in its
simplest form it consists of a transmitted radio signal aimed by an antenna in a
particular direction, and a receiver that detects the echoes off any objects
in the path of the signal, he says.
Who invented radar first?
Heinrich Hertz
Christian Hülsmeyer
Radar/Inventors
Advantages of Radar:
The main advantage of RADAR, is that it provide superior
penetration capability through any type of weather condition, and can be
used in the day or night time.
Radar uses electromagnetic wave that does not require a medium
like Sonar (that uses water) so can be used in space and air.
What is the difference between radar and antenna?
Antenna is the physical interface of any electronic device to the
electromagnetic waves. ... A radar has such an antenna which first
emits electromagnetic waves to the environment and senses
reflections. The reflections tell the radar about the reflecting objects
such as: enemy aircrafts, ships or cars on road

Pulse Radar
The Radar, which operates with pulse signal is called the Pulse Radar. Pulse Radars
can be classified into the following two types based on the type of the target it detects.
