American Airlines, Inc.

is the world's largest airline when measured by fleet size, scheduled passengers
carried, and revenue passenger mile. Airline Capacity Cushions – Overbooking is common for scheduled
airlines to overbook their flights. The reason for this is to maintain as close to full capacity as possible.
Based on historical data, each airline has their own method of forecasting demand. This forecast will
determine the number of flights, routes, and seats available (capacity). It will also predict how many
people will not show up for each flight. This is termed a ‘no show rate’ and industry wide, there is said to
be an approximate 10% no show average. Keeping in mind the 10% no show rate and the perishability of
each empty seat, airlines will overbook their flights. The yield on extra tickets sold for the flight offsets
the costs associated with inconveniencing and rebooking passengers when their forecasts fail.

The Pros of the capacity strategies that

I think the biggest constraint about the corona virus is the vaccine. It's the element that would
require the most time (on average each vaccine took about 3 years to develop and test). it is also
out of our reach the most because of how the virus can mutate.

So the cycle of curing the corona would be, identify what type of virus (done), learned about the
virus (somewhat done), research about vaccine (currently), testing the vaccine (currently),
produce vaccine, and distributing the vaccine.

Out of all these steps, researching the vaccine would be the biggest constraint.

Why? the virus is new, the virus can mutate, each vaccine took about 3 years to safely research
and test. So really, the biggest constraint here would be research and testing the vaccine
step 1: identifying
step 2: exploit the constraint. are you working at full capacity? the answer would be yes
because not just the US but every capable country in U.S. right now is looking for the vaccine.
step 3: subordinate. are we communicating about the vaccine? yes, every country is posting
about the progress in the race for the vaccine.
step 4: elevate the constraint. How to increase the capacity? This was done by the government.
They just simply inject a bunch of money into the research field, Mr. President wrap speed
operation.
He's giving company millions and billions of dollars to research. The money is used to fund the
machine and resources that are necessary to speed up the processes.

So instead of having people just running around looking for resources and what not. He just
picked 5 companies that show the most promising result and have them all race for the cure at
the same time instead of having just 1 or a few companies running around headless looking for
the cure.
step 5: don’t stop now. Now that the constraint is broken, you go back and look for the next one.
the next one would be producing. How are you going to produce enough vaccine for the country
then the world?
because this world is driven by money. If the US is going to make the vaccine first, then you will
be sure that they will charge other country for the vaccine. Why? Because we spend billions
looking for this. So, we got to make it back somehow, it is a cruel world.
It would explain the reason why trump is already securing millions of doses of vaccine from
vaccine makers when the vaccine isn’t even approved yet. So, by securing here, it means that
Trump is setting up the correct facility to manufacture the vaccine as soon as it's ready.
There is not so effective thing here is amount of money being spend. As you can see, there was
alot of scandal and news about how the money is not being spend wisely and raising doubt and
etc... also another not so effective thing here is what if all 5 company failed, that is also not so
effective but the job comes with this risk because we are talking about a brand new type of virus
that no one knew about.
Look at history, the plague, the chicken pox, etc... when it was first found, it took countless trials
and years to figure out the effective ways to cure/prevent it. So this time it's also the same thing.
But this constraint would be something that will always come with the job. I mean sure it would
be faster now because of technology. But that arguement is meaningless if we are gonna assume
that technology will keep improving. So that means in the future, this process would take even
shorter but that is heavily depend on the technological advancement that we are gonna make,
also another constraint and the cycle restart.

GSU should receive a 5 for managing for this constrains because they prepared everything for our safety
and our education. Although everything is not completely perfect, the professors and staffs already try
their best to make sure all student having the best experience and knowledge and service from them.
Helping students in every situation, the process during the program is still work well, advisors still
connect to you to register class,...
